Works
I installed it on my Makita 10” chop saw. It. does contain the dust and funnels it to the shop vac. However, you might have to fiddle with the installation to make it fit correctly which is why I deduced a ⭐️. Worth the money.

Really cleans my shop
Power mitre saws are a necessity, but make a horrendous mess of sawdust and wood chips. I had tried making my own dust control, as well as trying several that I saw on U tube. None helped much. This dust collector really works well, which helps make it's huge size acceptable.

GARVIN Miter saw dust collection hood/"tent"
The media could not be loaded. Works great, love it. Should come with a smaller dust port for sure.. I should have looked further into that when I bought it. Should be 3"-2" port instead of 4", wow. Oh well, it works amazing and screws right on to my portable miter saw station. Thanks GARVIN.

Captures much of my miter saw dust
This is basically a big bag that wraps around much of your miter saw to capture the spray of fine dust that tool generates. I bolted it onto the home-made stand that holds my saw and while it took a little fussing, assembly was not too hard - see photo 1. The hardware and fabric are robust enough, but I would not call this a premium product. For me the challenge was that when I turn my dust collector on, the fabric of this unit gets sucked into the 4" exit port, plugging it off so that air flow is minimal. I've done some improvising to hold the 4" connector to the back of the bench so the whole bag doesn't get scrunched up but it is not perfect yet - see photo 2. While this is not perfect, it does capture most of the fine dust and alleviate the massive piles of sawdust that used to accumulate on the bench and the floor behind the miter saw. Note the dimensions of the tent, because this takes up a lot of space, especially behind the saw. Overall, this was worth it to me because the miter saw was probably the worst offender in my shop for spreading large amounts of fine dust into places that I seldom sweep. For me, this product improves the dust situation in my shop, even if it isn't perfect.

Helps temper the miter dust storm!
This is a neat concept and execution of a miter saw shroud to help limit the exposure and spread of harmful dust. Miter saws have always been a hard tool to limit the spread dust. It is also hard to confine the dust clouds created by a miter saw. This miter saw dust hood is made with material with no pores so it will even limit the finest of particulate from flying all over your workshop. The install is a bit finicky, but a lot of that depends on where and how your miter saw is setup. I have a custom miter saw bench so space for the install brackets is a bit limited, so I ended up drilling right through the resin lower body of the saw and it worked out great. On your average miter saw extension table or even just a normal table install should be an easier process. The shroud has a 4" port on the bottom end for dust extraction. 4" is conveniently the most common size of dust collection systems. So just had to connect my hose to the 4" port and got some good dust extraction. The material tends to fold on top of the port when the vaccuum is on but it can easily be remedies through weighing down the material and spacing the shroud just right. Even when the dust collection isn't powered on and connected to the port, this miter saw hood still has the fuction of keeping most of the flying dust and larger debris in place, to be extracted at a different time.Overall this is a large upgrade in my workshop. It will help the whole shop be less dusty. I highly recommend.

Overall good quality but has design issues
I use a 2hp dust collection system with 4" pipe and hoses for each tool that can use them. As this hood comes with a 4" collar, that's what I used. The problem is that the vacuum suction is powerful enough to cause the interior fabric to collapse into the opening creating a complete blockage. I had to rig a weighted round collar to sit on top of the interior opening to prevent the collapse. With this temporary modification the hood works quite well. I will probably fasten flat metal strips onto the fabric projecting out from the collar to prevent a collapse as a permanent fix.

As soon as my broken leg heals, I won't know for sure, but...
So, the packaging was heavy duty, and the product was inside a storage bag that was also heavy duty. The instructions were clear and understandable. There is a metal frame that expands to the shape needed. The fabric is heavy and will probably trap any flying debris not aimed directly at me. The vacuum hook up, I believe, will fit my shop vac... as I said above, I have a broken leg and it will be about a month before I am allowed back in the garage. if my experience is not equal to my expectation, I will update!
