Technical install, but the unit works!
This product works as advertised, with a few caveats. The connection from the extension cable to the mainboard is generally loose and can cause unexpected behavior if not secured. I wedged some thin cardstock in beside it to hold it tight and that finally did the trick. I won't lower the product rating for that since its a known issue in the community and doesn't reflect the actual performance of this genuine and functional BL Touch unit. Some people have attached the correct style of connector for their specific board in their install tutorials. I would not rate the install as "easy" since I do not have pin tools and opted to strip and solder the wires to connect the extension cable to the factory one. Once that was done, I fed the wires through the braided cable management compression tubes down to the mainboard and plugged it it. Having the 4.2.2 mainboard, I didn't require any additional interface equipment (transfer board). Older boards will, and you may want to look for a complete interface kit if you have an older board. This kit doesn't have a mounting bracket for the BL Touch, so I printed my own. Flashing the new firmware from creality.com/download was easy for this model of mainboard (4.2.2 or the newer 4.2.7), I simply erased an SD card, placed the new .BIN file on the SD, inserted it into the printer, and booted it up. After that finished, I wiped the card, loaded some print files, and returned the card to the printer before configuring the new setup since settings will be saved on the SD card. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the performance of the BL Touch and, having fixed my loose connection to the mainboard, the unit itself works perfectly every time. I have since upgraded to the 4.2.7 mainboard, and the unit also works perfectly with that. I have also added OctoPrint on a Raspberry Pi and the bed visualization plugin that displays the mesh data from the BL Touch in a graphical format makes it even easier to fine-tune a perfect base-level print platform so that the automatic bed leveling system has less work to do.

Easy install, very useful.
The BL Touch is a game-changer for 3D printing enthusiasts. I installed this on a Creality CR10 V3. With a few firmware modifications and printing the bracket to mount, this thing works like a champ. I highly recommend getting a Auto bed Leveling sensor as it will make your prints go up in quality and you don't have to worry about manual leveling anymore.

Look, the BLtouch gets a bad wrap because people buy the knockoffs then complain that they're finicky or unreliable. Yes it's not as accurate as an inductive or capacitive sensor, but it really doesn't need to be. There have been tests done that show while the physical switch nature of the BLtouch produces slightly less accurate meshes, the variance is essentially at such miniscule scales that printers aren't even accurate enough to take advantage of the difference.Here's the thing though, DO NOT cheap out and buy one of the clones. Spend the extra to get the genuine BLtouch. The clones DO have accuracy issues, they ARE unreliable. Just like many 3d printer parts you should splurge and get the real deal because the knock offs are unreliable.Yes, it has moving parts, but if you use it correctly, it should almost never wear out.Set this up to probe the bed before every print and enjoy your perfect first layers, every time. Just make sure you test it with your finger before you know what you're doing to avoid a bed crash.

Worth it!!
Disappointed to receive a v3.0 when they are selling version v3.1 elsewhere. Seems to be luck of the draw. Previously was using an old clone model and it eventually died. I have yet to run it through it's paces fully but from I've seen so far this seems more accurate and consistent. Very solid in it's mechanical operation compared to old clone version.Install on a 3D printer can be difficult. If your printer did not already have a BLTouch then your in for a doozy of an install. Firmware modifications or, if available, updates are required to enable the probe. I custom built my printer so this wasn't an issue for me. Marlin 1.1.9 and 2.0 definitely support this device so ignore anyone that's says nothing supports it. They obviously aren't experienced enough to know what they are talking about.If you are looking to add this probe to your printer make sure you can get the required firmware or simply compile it yourself. Most commonly available printers will have the config files provided for you already. Additional parts may be required due to needing a mounting point on the tool head.

Tremenda mejora para impresoras cartesianas
Hasta ahora, la más grande mejora que he implementado en mis impresoras.No tuve problemas para su instalación en una ender 3 con skr 1.3. Debo mencionar que al instalarlo en una cr10 v3, si que tuve inconvenientes, pero no tienen nada que ver en lo absoluto con el sensor vendido en esta publicación, sino con el diagrama provisto por creality para su kit de bltouch(el cableado coincidía según los datos de anticlabs y las fotos de creality pero no dejaba que arrancara la impresora). Para la cr10 v3, el cableado está invertido y no es el mismo cableado que el mostrado para el kit de la cr10 v2, aunque se supone que son prácticamente la misma impresora pero con cambios en el extrusor. Resueltos los inconvenientes con la placa de creality no hubo más problemas y funciona tal como en mi otra impresora.

Der Bltouch ist eine echte Erleichterung und funktioniert hervorragend!Etwas neue Verkabelung ist nötig, in meinem Fall auch ein neues Mainboard (trigorilla vom i3 Mega kaputt gegangen, getauscht gegen MKS Gen L v2.1), kurze Einrichtung in Klipper (Pins der Anschlüsse festlegen) und los geht's:Z-Offset einstellen (PROBE_CALIBRATE, Höhenunterschied Nozzle -> Probe), Fühlerlehre 0.05mm drunter, Probedruck und Z-Offset live weiter einstellen bis es passt.Dann BED_MESH_CALIBRATE und die erste Schicht sitzt!

Perfect
The real genuine part, my 3D printer was playing up and it as because of an off brand BL Touch. Plugged this one in and works perfectly. Great quality and easy to install. Very happy with my purchase.
