I'm looking for a digi tacho card reader that will work with my android phone for keeping track of my driving hours etc. Will this do the job?

I'm sorry, but this device does not work with Android devices. It has full size USB port and you can't even connect it to smartphones with Micro USB ports

Usually card issuer provides correct software that is needed for your card. There isn't any universal software. Each card has different purpose, therefore different software.
