MicroKits Synth-a-Sette: The Original Cassette Sized Analog Synthesizer

I've had a blast playing with the synth-a-sette!! It's a neat little gizmo that is pretty easy to set up and has a nice sound. The part I love the most is how creative is allows you to be in constructing your "keyboard." I used succulent leaves at first and went from there. It's great that there are controls for volume, tuning, and vibrato - as well as a headphone jack - which you might not expect for something that fits into a cassette case. As a musician, I would recommend this to anyone who likes tinkering with new instruments and discovering new sounds. I also highly recommend this for educational settings because it is relatively easy to put together, a good introduction to electronics, and highly creative.

I bought this as a gift for my husband to play on its own and connected to a Stylophone. He is a musician (percussion and piano) and starting to experiment with making loops. This device is great (and so much fun) for what he does. It's well-made, the sound it produces is quite surprising for how small it is. Plus, after doing a bit of research about this business, you can tell that there is a lot of heart in it. I recommend it 100%.

What it connected with doesn't change the tone. The connection is not always good. But still a ok toy for kids

Super fun to play right out of the box. Gave it as a gift and they loved it. The vibrato adjustment lets you get a lot of different sounds out of it.

These are so cool . I bought two for gifts one for my partner 44M and one for my son 19 for Christmas gifts. I am excited to give them to them!!!

I got this as a lil bonus Christmas gift for my son since he got a big gift but I wanted him to have more to unwrap. I saw the ad and thought he would think it was cool and it was just supposed to be a neat little thing, but he absolutely loves it and has already made songs with it. He said for a mom who “knows nothing about music” (my words) I did a great job picking it out.

Got this for my 8 year old son for Christmas because he is starting to get interested in sound mixing. Huge hit! We immediately had to try it out with bananas and it works very well! Let me tell you - a kid figuring out how to play Jingle Bells on BANANAS on Christmas Day is the most hilarious thing ever. Even without the bananas, it works great. Is this the most comprehensive sound machine available? God, no. But it isn’t meant to be. It’s a fun novelty and achieves that in spades.

My college age kids loved this groovy little synthesizer. It’s a novelty for sure, but they (two music majors) were jamming out. For what amounts to a circuit board, it seems well designed and durable. Plus the guy who makes them seems to offer really great customer support. This is probably a good fit for a musical STEM kid, or a musician who likes to fool around with retro synth sounds. Raspberry Pi nerds will geek out as well.

Fun little gadget!
