it does it's job, nice product
this jug is not really a filter, but it does its job, which is to remove odors and flavors from tap water. my tap water tastes a lot like chlorine, but once filtered you can't smell it anymore. very convenient since I no longer buy bottled water and I don't have to carry it up the stairs. moreover with this jug you will never run out of water because you just have to refill it. the only flaw is that for the first few times you use a new filter the filtered water tastes like still sparkling water, but this problem goes away after a couple of uses.it is also very good for the environment since you don't buy plastic bottles, although it could be improved by creating reusable or refillable filters.

Changed my life
Absolutely changed my life! Used to buy bottled water every week and the waste was driving me insane. Discovered this as recommendation from friend and I am so thankful. The water taste like pure filtered water (which was most important)- none of the fancy minerals they try to sometimes add. I’ve ordered myself a bottle too for my bed stand and about to order 3 more for the rest of the family as they keep on stealing mine. Buy the filters once a year when they go on sale and it honestly works like a dream. Only have to replace the filters once once a month but it give you a nice little indication when to do it. Saving us a ton of money and mommy no longer complains about the tap water as it’s filtered! Wish I had discovered this years ago!

Great tasting water
We used to have a great tasting tap water in my area, but following privatisation, it became horrible. I found myself buying bottled water, but aside from the cost, my main problem was that I did not always have it. At the times when I run out, I would resort to tap water, as horrible tasting as it is, which is the main reason why I decided to buy a water filter jug. I went for BRITA as it is a well established and respectable brand. This is my second purchase of the same product. The positives: Nice looking jug with good capacity and functionality; it shows you the state of the filter and indicates the time to change it. Provides a great tasting water. Fits in my fridge so I always have nice, fresh drinking water. The negatives: The jug looks nice when first opened and used, but it is not that easy to clean, especially if you live in a hard water area, you end up with water marks all over the jug, which are pretty impossible to clean. The quality of plastic is questionable and the jug gets scratched easily even if you use a soft part of a sponge. After a while, it ends up looking dirty and greasy due to scratches, regardless of how much you clean it, so, in my opinion, it is not very durable. The refill cartridges are quite expensive. As for the jug itself, considering the quality of the plastic, it is quite expensive, however if I focus on what is really important, which if the effectiveness of the product and the quality of the drinking water I get it is worth it, and I would certainly recommend it

Must have if you don't like the taste of tap water
This is a beautiful item. I've always said water tastes awful from the tap. Using this I've had more drinking water from the tap and feel now it's filtered it's better. I even bought extra filters. Fit into the fridge nicely, filter life is roughly one a month or so, quality item, definitely value for money, the function of this product is great. Weight is good.

Does the job
Purchased purely for topping up the water container in my LG American style fridge/freezer. Dispenses cold water and ice. I live in a hard water area and having spent a deal of money on this item, I did not want it ruined by hard water. The Britain jug turns the tap water into crystal clear, completely tasteless water. Makes the water from the fridge dispenser blooming marvelous. Squash tastes great when diluted with the filtered water. I keep the Britain jug in the fridge so the water is cold before I decant it. I have had 2 in the past and they are great for making tea and coffee, via the kettle of course. Also stops my kettle from scaling up. Saving electricity. The Britain filter is a great way of making sure that the water you drink is free of limescale and nasty chemicals. Just remember to wash the jug before you insert a new filter. Cleaning it is a doddle, squirt of Fairy liquid, Dawn for our American cousins, add tap water, wash it, rinse it. Prepare the new filter, run water through twice, dispose of the cleaning water, top up again and your ready to start another 28 days of sparkling water. What's not to like.

Well priced for a well known brand.
These seem to have came down in price, especially for a brand as well known as Brita. I’ve used them on and off for years but ended up reverting to an unbranded model when mine needed replacing. But having seen this during one of the Prime Day’s - I thought why not! It comes with three filters and they say they last a month each on average although I’m not sure. Living in Scotland, the tap water is already pretty good to be honest but I still use this to get rid of whatever impurities are remaining.Seems to work well because the water feels smoother, that’s the only way I can describe it. Either way it’s been a good buy to always have fresh cold water in the fridge. And as far as the filters go, as long as Brita keep the prices down on those as well, I’ll continue to buy the branded ones for the foreseeable rather than opt to save a couple of quid on ones I’m not sure about. It’s also worth mentioning, it’s well built, made from strong tough plastic rather than the flimsy thin stuff I’ve seen on some of the unbranded ones.A decent buy for anyone looking for some robust from a well known brand.
