Q: I purchased the ht 2600 trimmer. the container had been previously opened. how do i get the registration in warranty?

Ego has a wed site. Go to it with the serial number and model number and they can help you provided it wasnt stolen or shop lifted.

Q: Can I use my 56 volt 4.0 battery instead of the 2.5ah they recommend?

It takes a 56 volt battery the 2.5ah stands for amp hours. Not sure what the 4.0 you are referring to means.
