Effective But as a Last Resort
Works very well when all other options failed. I am not keen to use pesticides but the plague of weevils had destroyed mature bushes and were in the process of destroying more; I gave the 'green' options time to be effective but they didn't work or sufficiently cope and instead the weevils multiplied.

Great product to fight vine weevil infestation
Those nasty little creatures seem to be dead at the scene, after spraying them directly with a solution (50ml per 1litre of water). I can observe their reduced activity at night and less damage on new leaves now! I can recommend.

The item arrived promptly. As the dose required is quite high, I needed to eke it out to give my pots just one treatment from the bottle, so its quite expensive. However I've had a lot of damage this year and some expensive losses, so its worth it to get on top of the pesky vine weevil.

BUGCLEAR instructions
I rang BugClear on the number on the box. I asked how long the product lasts and was told up to 3 years after production date. Older, it may still be used but might not be as effective. I asked how long the chemical stays in the plant. I was told 2 months. I mentioned I was getting larvae in May but it was recommended to drench the pots in June and August. I was told that Bugclear can be used as an occasional spray during the year, one third of the dosage mentioned on the box (20ml instead of 60ml). If you have queries, you can ring them. I am in West Yorkshire and I lost plants in May, finding many larvae in the plants' roots. That is why I rang BugClear. The reason you drench pots in August is so it kills the bug from surviving overwinter. If I had noted that on the box, and drenched in August, my plants should have survived. Vine Weevils tend to lay their eggs in late spring, the reason for drenching pots in June.
