Good For The Face and The Soul
I am reviewing the book and DVD together as they work really well together. The DVD is really good to get acquainted with the exercises and shows the right way to do them. The book goes into more detail about them and has a ton of info on preventing aging as well as a body posturing exercise that enhances the facial exercises.The people who say it is difficult to imagine a pencil between their lips must suffer from a complete lack of imagination, as I found these visualizations very essential to moving the energy in my face muscles the right way.I noticed a change in my face within the first week of doing Facercise. My cheeks are tighter, and chin has really toned up so much that I was really amazed with the results. My skin also looks much more toned and healthier. A real added benefit is for me is it is great for stress and anxiety - the exercises release tension which I commonly hold in my face and neck. I really feel great after doing Facercise and it is easy to do, especially working with the DVD. If I am in a rush I can quickly do some exercises and skip through the video fast, though it does not take long to do the video throughout, it only takes about 25 minutes. The book really clears up any questions I have as well. On the 1st DVD there are 14 different exercises in addition to the introduction and instructions for exercising in your car, as well as audio Cd's for the home and car. I have just ordered the 2nd DVD as well and can't wait to see what better results I can achieve.To sum it all up, using Facercise, the body posturing in combination with whatever exercise routine is right for you, not only will help you look younger, you will feel younger, it is highly rejuvenating deep down to your soul.

Really works & my 'Sleep Apnea Has Disappaeared!!!!!
This really works! I do the exercises laying in bed, while driving the car on the country highway to the store or sitting on the couch in the evening. My hubby thought it was rather silly, however, he had commented on my down turned lips a few months ago and guess what? They are no longer turning downward, and he has noticed! I had a friend recently say that someone was asking how old I am and had commented on how young I looked.But I am saving the best part for last. My sleep apnea has disappeared! I have tried herbal remedies and a sleep apnea face mask/guard, and NOTHING helped. The EXERCISES HAVE RELIEVED ME OF MY SLEEP APNEA!! It makes sense actually. The nose exercise is the easiest to do, so I started with that. I believe it is the nose exercise found on page 62 and the 'nasal labial smoother,' found on page 68 that really did the trick, but no doubt the other exercises are helping as well.If you have sleep apnea, TMJ, have been in a car accident and have had reconstructive facial surgery, check this book out and start doing the exercises immediately, what do you have to lose?I shop lots on Amazon and seldom write a review, but this one I felt I really needed to. Many thanks to Carole Maggio and to the Lord who led me to this book as I was looking for help for someone else whose left cheek suddenly collapsed on them and I wanted to help. They have not been willing to do the exercises yet, but I did them and I am so glad that I did and I have no plans of stopping! :)P.s....someone commented on the 'new age,' visualization that the author mentions, however, she does not use the term new age. The fact is, is that you have to concentrate to do the exercises and that is all it is, I do not make more of it than it is. This is exercises takes discipline and concentration and it will reward you just like other exercise does. The big upside is that your face's muscles are small and so they respond positively much more quickly than the rest of your body so that you are very quickly rewarded. :)

Me and my Face...
Hello, I bought this book about a month ago. I've been doing the exercises, well actually, only 2 of them out of the many provided. Everything is fine. I do sometimes wish I bought a video version as the pictures and words do what they can but still leave it up to you to figure out exactly how to properly do the exercises. I guess a video or even someone in person would be most helpful but that is not a books fault. So with that said, I don't regret my purchase and the book gets 4 stars. Why not 5? I guess the reason it wasn't a complete home run is because honestly I think they could have provided a CD with the facial exercises that you can play on your computer to actually see these exercises in action. This way they can continue to sell the DVD but with the book version at least you get something to see these exercises. Again, 4 stars hopefully tells you guys...don't refrain from buying the book..it is well done, well put together, no regrets. With the book review out of the way, I know some of you are wanting to know how effective all this is so that is the next paragraph.One day (well many days) I looked at myself in the mirror and specifically looked at my face and just hated what I saw. It was round and since I don't have hair...I just hated the way I looked. If I opened my mouth and my face was more oval then I guess I could stand the way I looked a little but I can't go through life with my mouth open. So I looked up a few things on the internet. There is facial surgery but a part of me said GOD gave me this face...I should not change it but I should accept it and love it. So then Carole's book cross my Internet surfing path and I purchased this book from Amazon. I narrowed it down to two exercises I do in the morning (I think I am supposed to do them 2 twice a day..but I have been getting lazy and only doing it in the morning now). I've modified them a little...added a few things of my own...and basically have been doing them now for about a month. My face hurts (that is good) and feels weirdly different. I feel like blood flowing through my face..it feels alive kind of. Basically it feels good like you do when you have a great workout.I'm almost aware of my jaw now something I forgot I even had because heck I can't see it. Anyway, has it changed? I don't know...probably not...its only been a month but then again, I see myself every morning so I wouldn't notice anyway. I think the book tells you have to do them daily twice a day for 8-12 weeks before results come.But mostly I think I can look at myself and not feel disgusted anymore. Maybe its because I'm doing something for myself, maybe its because I'm not changing what GOD has given me via surgery. And exercising is a natural thing our body wants us to do and yet we never do it to our face...now you will with this book. So after 2 months even if nothing changes on my face (I seriously doubt my face is going to go from round to oval) at least I have some internal face confidence that it being round doesn't bother me much anymore.So I guess I'm making it now and I have to tell you this book as helped me. I'm happy to own it. I actually even once looked at myself in the bathroom mirror at work and actually liked what I saw (only once...but hey it was once right?) So get the book first. If you find it difficult to understand the exercises via print...then later on put in an order for the DVD as they are expensive.Thank you.

Excellent Book
If you want to see how you really look, study your driver's license or passport. It's not a poor picture, that is you! Are you happy with the picture? If you are not then I suggest you buy this book. It is very well illustrated with photos of the exercises and the written descriptions are very clear. As you progress you will start to feel the muscles working and you will know whether you are targeting the appropriate muscles or not.I took a face shot( no smiling) before I started and must admit I was so saddened by my appearance. I'm fifty four and thought I was actually aging rather well. That picture burst my bubble.If you only see pictures where you are happy and smiling you aren't really seeing how your face looks.I even asked my husband if I really looked like that and apparently the camera wasn't lying. I erased that picture so as not to feel discouraged. Silly, I know but it depressed me! Two weeks into the program I retook some pictures and really studied the areas that needed improvement. I emailed Carrole with some questions and she promptly returned my email with some suggestion on how to approach two areas that I wanted to correct to help balance my face. Four weeks into the program I again took pictures and again at six weeks. I had them developed and look at them for my inspiration. I truly see a difference and will continue on. This is something I know I will do for the rest of my life. I know in the months to come I will see more improvement as this is not a quick fix and will take time to get the full results. I'm happier with my appearance and my face feels more toned and looks younger. I feel I now have some control over my facial aging. It is important to moisturize and protect our skin but there is nothing in a bottle or jar that will lift your sagging muscles,they need exercise just like the rest of our body. You have nothing to lose by trying this program, but be patient.
