XPELClear Universal Bed Rail Guard ( 17' x 4") Paint Protection Film Kit

**I have not used any other type of protective film to compare this product to. I purchased this product for my stand-up paddle board as rail tape.Per instructions, I applied soapy water to the tape and the application surface which I got a few bubbles. I peeled the film back off and try another go at it which this time I was not so sparing with the soap as well as soaped the outside of the film. After that, it went on magically. Many areas were worked and reworked 3-4 times and the adhesive properties remained just as sticky.I initially thought it was a bit pricey ($50) but after working with the stuff, it is well worth it. The film is somewhat elastic so wrapping around sharper edges weren't as difficult as expected and can be cut to shape with regular scissors. My paddle board is black carbon fiber and I cannot see the XPEL film without looking really closely at it or feeling it with my hand. This stuff is awesome!**Update**I just a put this on my car and it's just as easy. I have a Thule roof rack and put this down to protect it from the rubber feet and metal clamp/brackets. I there were a couple corners and bends on the roof that were tricky, so I had to remove and reapply a couple times before I figured out the process. That's what's great about Xpel--when you're finished applying it but unsatisfied, you can (carefully) remove it and reapply until you're happy.Highly recommend this.~~06Mar2016~~Two years later and it still great. Has not yellow-ed, faded or shows signs of wear on either my paddleboard or car rooftop. I also like it because when I take my roof rack off and on without remeasuring each install.

Amazon, you have mislabeled the 6" version of this product with the 4" label, and you keep shipping me the wrong item. Would appreciate getting the correct item when ordered, especially after the third time. This stuff is great!

I used these on my Jeep to protect the door sill paint. All of the normal sill covers are too thick and prevent the door seal from seating properly. The film is thin and surprisingly tough. They are not the easiest film to install especially on small compound curves but it can be done. Just use a lot of water on both the painted surface and the film and keep spraying to keep everything WET until ready to squeegee or press down. Don't sweat any tiny bubbles. They disappear when dry.

I used this for the door sills on my new 2013 Mazda CX-5. The painted door sills looked too easily scratched and so I bought this roll and cut into 5 pieces for all the doors including the back hatch. They were pretty easy to apply and almost invisible once on. Works great for my purposes!Thanks

Works well once you get the hang of installing it. The trick is to not use too much soapt water or else you'll be left with small pockets of moisture under against the paint. Is definitely good protection-the film is quite thick.
