Whittle's Gait Analysis

Great book! I use it for my Physiotherapy degree about gait cycles

This is a great text book I would recommend it to anyone who is studying the science of human motion

This book is great - its a very tight and focused text on the fundamentals of gait. I would say its a good core text, particularly to support academic study or research as its easy to access the core information you need quickly.However, I dont think it supports clinical working well as it contains limited material on pathology - better to buy a different book if your looking to support/develop your clinical practice.

Books great, but still for the price I'd expect a nice copy and unfortunately the front cover arrived damaged.

PTA for 10+ years, thought I'd upgrade/review my knowledge. This book was phenomenal, I'd highly recommend purchasing it.

Wonderfully descriptive and illustrated breakdown of gait. This book takes the complex task of gait analysis and explains it in a way that allows for even the most inexperienced individual to understand.

This is a great book that explains gait in a very understandable and manageable method. It is full of drawing, charts, and tables that help explain gait.

This was the required text for a Motion Analysis class in my Master's of Exercise Science program and as such is written for the graduate level. This is not light reading. The author is an authority on the topic and goes into to great detail about many biomechanical characteristics of normal gait and then completes a proper discussion of various gait abnormalities. The author discusses forces, moments/torques, muscle action (both concentric and eccentric) during various phases of the gait cycle which is broken down into logical industry-standard segments. Everything in the book makes sense and conveys the concepts properly. I considered giving the book 5-stars because it does present the concept well, but after discussing the text in detail in class, the book could benefit from breakout segments that discuss some areas of controversy or unsolved problems.

The text is well written and the diagrams help easily explain the more complex concepts to break down gait into more manageable steps.
