I’m very happy with this external CD/DVD drive. It was very easy to set up—just plug and play, no extra installation needed. It works smoothly, reads and writes discs without any issues, and the speed is good. I like that it’s lightweight and easy to carry. It’s perfect for laptops that don’t have a built-in drive. Overall, it works great and I highly recommend it.

I recently found a copy of a rare old CD that had some tracks I wanted to rip to my PC, but like most modern computers it didn't come with a CD/DVD drive. This is plug and play - no software to install, just shows up as a local drive in your File Explorer and was immediately recognized by Exact Audio Copy as a drive to rip/burn to. I didn't test the burn functionality, but it worked great to rip the CD to my computer as FLAC files.

Solid purchase and works as advertised. This was cheap insurance to prevent media obselence. I have used it a few times, but now I don't worry about my DVD library disappearing on me because I can't find a drive. it was $13 when I bought it--hard to complain about anything at that price.

It took me about an hour to figure out how to get this dvd/cd player/writer to function. I am using windows 11 pro. When I plugged it in and inserted a disk, it found the disk but windows media player would not load the media. I downloaded VLC player and after about half an hour of fiddling with it, I finally got it to load the movies I wanted to play. I cannot attest to how durable/long lasting this will be….but it seems to function properly though not quite plug and play for me.

when i got this and tried to plug it into my macbook with the type c cable it wasn't connecting. i was getting really sad about it, but then i realized that it wasn't in all the way. so keep this in mind if you use a computer with usb type c: you have to push the cable in as far as possible to get it to read the disc player. it should make a click once you get it in far enough it's a bit stubborn. once it was in i got it to burn a mixtape of my favorite band, with 15 songs or 56 minutes, and it burned the cd in around five minutes, maybe less. it was super loud while burning, but personally i don't mind as someone who grew up playing on the xbox 360. anyway after it was done i put the disc in my radio/cd player and it plays flawlessly with great sound. so personally i had a mostly great experience with the disc drive, i would absolutely recommend if you want something cheap, easy to use, and high quality

Had operating issue with first purchase. Replacement was quick and 2nd unit performed well.

Works great only problem my USB plug got stuck and broke off in my TV. It doesn't even work that way. A CD got stuck because it lost power. Bad news is the wire has five smaller wires so it's not quite so easy to splice. Good news is if you take the cord off, the base of the cord is a USB C port into the main mechanics of the player. So you can take any USBC that can transfer video audio data from your phone to a computer into the player and get it to work from there. No clue why the USB port broke off so easy. First day of having it, looks super ugly, but it's fully functional. And I don't think this USB C port for USB port is going to snap off because it never has before.

Works as intended.

I plugged it in to my all in one desktop and my desktop doesn't even see that I plugged something in. Even in my file manager, it doesn't show anything plugged in. I'd already downloaded a video player. Going to send it back. The description says it is good for Windows 11, but on the box it only goes up to Windows 10. Not sure if I got a faulty one, or if it simply won't work on Windows 11.

I tried to use a different maker’s external CD drive but found it worked a bit hit and miss when it was operating, however this runs very smoothly and I have had no problems. I recommend this make..
