Brush doesn’t last
I’ve had my tooth brush for eight days and the brush head is not sturdy. I use it twice a day and use gental strokes but the brush looks like it’s six months old . Very disappointed not to mention not cheap

Very Innovative
The toothbrush is very innovative. The concept is very new to me (you can use it without toothpaste) so I wanted to try it. The brush is soft and comfortable, but I’m not sure how well the electrons will work in removing plaque so I’ll keep using it for a month and will see what my dentist say in the next appointment.

Solar Panel Toothbrush Uses Ions to Clean
Soladey5 Ionic Toothbrush, Large Solar Panels and TiO2 Semiconductor, that you can Brush Without Toothpaste.I am starting with the cautions that are on the package in red print:~ People who use pacemakers should not use this product.~ Keep the brush head attached to the handle and rod except during replacement.~ Never leave the toothbrush or bare handle and rod near young children or infants. The toothbrush head has an opening on the front and back which allows you to wet the semiconductor black bar which activates the ions when the solar panel is exposed to sun or indoor lights.I used the toothbrush in my bathroom which has vanity lights over the bathroom mirror and I also turned on the light in my makeup mirror to activate the solar panel. I brushed without toothpaste, the bristles are soft and very comfortable. After I started brushing, I noticed a taste which I assume were the ions working. After I finished brushing I noticed my teeth looked whiter, like when I use a whitening strip when I hadn’t used whitening strips for a month or two. My teeth feel clean. This is not an electric toothbrush, it has no vibration or movement. It works (as it says on the package) by combining the power of electrons generated by a semiconductor (titanium dioxide rod) and solar panels.

Decent toothbrush, can't tell if the ions are doing anything
As far as being a toothbrush goes, this is pretty well made, has a solid and premium feel. The theory of operation also kinda makes sense in that the solar cells generate electric charge, which presumably flows throw the bristles, into your mouth and completing the circuit through your hands back into the body. However, I'm just not sure if it's doing anything - their website cites a couple of papers, which indicate that basically this current is reducing the acids in plaque. I have to think, though, that the strength of the current is probably too weak to do much. Coupled with the fact that toothpaste will likely interfere with this mechanism, and that there are other benefits of using toothpaste, I'm not entirely sold on this concept. And hey if this principle works, why not make it battery powered and oscillating? Does solar electricity have something special about it that I'm missing? (rhetorical :)
