I use mine in a staedtler marsmatic 700, 0.35 and it’s fine **Q: Is it suitable for calligraphy on canvas??** A: The ink is very thick and black so you may need to dilute with water or a medium. Test if possible on a small area of the canvas first if possible (Perhaps the side or reverse) to make sure it will dry and adhere to your surface the way you want it too. These drawing inks are not designed primarily for canvas but for paper. As the cost is low for this ink, might well be worth a try.? Hope it goes well. Acrylic inks are another possible alternative that are designed for canvas, but not nearly as thick. **Q: Could you use this ink in refillable Calligraphy Pens?** A: I'd advise against it - these inks use binders and other chemicals to make them water resistant and those chemicals will solidify in all the wrong places in your calligraphy pen. The solvents you need to break the ink apart may do damage to your fountain / calligraphy pen - they are not designed for that kind of cleaning. **Q: Suitable for rotring artpen?** A: Yes I would say so, I bought a Rotting ink pen that uses ink cartridges and this ink for the TechnoArt ink pen. It's similar but cheaper in price. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ink *by W***S on 8 August 2026* Excellent ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good ink *by M***. on 6 May 2026* As advertised and reasonable price ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The ink is good - bottle less so *by A***R on 21 September 2019* I'm not a professional draughtsman so can't really vouch for the ink quality. It's black and writes OK on paper is all I can say. Only issue I had was with the bottle. Really wish I'd kept my last Rotring one and transferred the ink. The nozzle was solid so had to poke a hole down it. Always seem to end up covered in ink when refilling now - not quite sure how it happens but fortunately it seems to wash off very easily. Having said that it seems relatively waterproof once dried (in paper anyway).
