Nalgene On The Go Water Bottle

The negative reviews on this product are disappointing. If you are looking for the security of a guaranteed leak proof water bottle then you may need to look at other bottles. This bottle is not designed for that. However there are many features this bottle provides that excel beyond what other bottles can do and for those reasons this water bottle is by far my favorite out of them all. And I have tried many. This bottle is perfect for one handed, one the go usability. It is easy and convenient to carry with the loop handle. The plastic that the top is constructed of is soft byu design. So that it can perform so perfectly, easily and comfortably. I have owned over 10 of these "on the go"(OTG) and the "on the fly"(OTF) bottles. I have broken a few lids, but customer service has always taken care of me with free replacement lids. Easy as pie. I don't believe the other reviewers that said they never heard a response from customer service. They have always been prompt and helpful. Even though it's just cheap little water bottle. I think of it as replacing the batteries in something, or replacing an air filter. Just a little occasional maintenance. No biggie. As far as leaking goes, I haven't had much of an issue in the many years I've used these, but when I do it is just a little tiny bit of water. Does that really hurt anything? If I am in the rare situation that a water leak would be devastating, I use a different water bottle. Such as the OTF model. I prefer this one(OTG) just because of the true one handed ease of use, but I do love that one a close second. I can open the OTF with one hand but if you have the lid locked, there is one extra step to take to open it. My girlfriend prefers the OTF because she has trouble with opening the OTG sometimes. There is a technique that you learn after some use which makes it easier but it could be hard to snap open for some at first. Overall though, we both love both models of this water bottle. They excel at everything except for leak proofness, which is not what this bottle is for. It is such a non issue that I can't believe so many people make negative reviews about it. Everything else about this bottle is great. Oh no! I spilled a drip of water on my car seat! Get the pitchforks! Just no. The build quality of this water bottle is top notch. It is a well thought out piece of engineering that works perfectly for my needs. The plastic of the lower bottle part will break if you drop it. So will many others. Who cares? This things costs less than ten dollars and may last you twenty years. Use it for what it is good for. I truly believe this bottle would be great for 90 percent of everyone's needs, people just need to get over petty issues and actually appreciate the amazing qualitites that this bottle has.

I really wanted to stop buying bottled water at the grocery but could never find a bottle that 'worked' for me. I hate the ones with the built in straws or the lids you had to unscrew to drink from, and especially the sippy cup styles. I carry water with me all the time so they have to be easy to carry, use and clean. I'll admit I'm picky but after trying about 10-15 different types that were all either a pain to use, or a pain to clean, I had just about given up. With each new one we'd try, we were back to the bottled water within the week. While on a shopping trip about 40 minutes from our home, I ran across these Nalgene water bottles. They looked to have a perfect design to counter everything I hated in previous bottles, they were also sturdy, attractive and reasonably priced. I decided to try. My search was over.These bottles are THE BEST. I've been using them for about 18 months now and can't imagine using anything else. Love the finger hole for carrying,. They're the perfect size for my bike/car/gym have a great cover to keep germs at bay. They are ultra easy to wash with no nooks and crannies to wonder if it REALLY got clean. Dishwasher safe & BPA free too! We haven't bought bottled water since buying these! I have mine with me 24/7 and they have held up great. After buying one for each of us in the store we found them and discovering these would be bottles we would actually use, I turned to Amazon to order back-ups. Even though my original bottle still works great, I did recently order new, "fresher" ones. I thought I got my 10 bucks worth and deserved a new one ;) I've even had friends ask me to order some for them since they loved mine so much. Although have all 3 colors (one for each of us so we don't get them mixed up) my favorite is the green, my icewater looks so refreshing in it! I hope Nalgene never quits making this style. Perfect!

I've been using this bottle for about 4 years now and I still really like it. I have other Nalgene bottles, but I wanted something easier to drink out of without having to unscrew a cap, or drink out of a huge opening. This bottle is perfect in that regard. Super easy to use, thin enough to put into a vehicle cup holder, and still has a loop on the top for easy carrying.After several years, it should be noted that the rubber seal around the mouthpiece begins to degrade. It still "seals," for the most part, but I've had leakage when it gets turned over in my gym bag. Nothing crazy, but it does leak. It's not much of an issue for me, but if you're the type of person who is constantly throwing around their water bottle, this might not be the best for you.Love the bottle design and will keep using it, but I docked a star for the small leakage problem.
