This sump pump works well. I used it to pump out my above ground pool which isn't exactly what it is typically used for, but it functions in all the same ways when used in a more common way, such as in a basement. The pump is 1/3 hp and pumps up to 3500 gal per hour or 58 gal per minute. Based upon the amount of water I was pumping this seems fairly accurate. It has a 1.5 inch pump discharge so unless you put a reducer on it, it should be able to reach those amounts no issue. It has a vertical lift of 24 ft but I wasn't able to test this range because what I was pumping wasn't that high (4ft vertical lift from my above ground pool) The unit has a 10ft power cord which should be more than enough in most situations. Because it has a piggy back switch which runs a float switch, it allows auto operation which means it will shut off when water gets below a certain level. You can unplug piggy back switch and run it manually but don't leave it unintended. It is ideal for basements or low areas and can handle up to 3/8 in solids. It is backed by Craftsman with a 3 year warranty which is nice. Overall, this sump pump works very efficiently and has a few nice features.

We recently finished our basement and installed a full bathroom with a huge shower. We needed something to discharge all of the excess water from the sink, toilet and shower. So we installed a unit in the closet next to the bathroom which houses a huge pump to expell everything. We needed a pump to do the job and when I saw this pop up in my feed, I knew this was the pump to get the job done.The pump itself is pretty large and we haven't had any issues with it not working as it should. It is pretty powerful and you can hear it as it does its magic once the bucket fills up. We do not use the basement that much so I am hoping to get years of use out of it. We had a contractor install it for us which he said was pretty straight forward. Overall craftsman makes some amazing products and we feel confident that we will not have any issues any time soon.

CRAFTSMAN 1/3 HP Auto Thermoplastic Sump Pump Kit with Check Valve (Vert), Pumps up to 3500 GPHThe pump comes packaged in a familiar retail, red and gray box, typical of most craftsman products. The exterior of the box has a lot of manufacturer information and notes that this is an automatic sump pump with a check valve and that it'll pump a maximum of 3,500 gallons per hour.Inside the box, right on top is the instruction manual. That's a big plus, as I seriously dislike having to dig through parts in a new tool and find the instruction booklet squished up in the bottom.Another plus, all the packaging in this is molded cardboard, so all the packaging is recyclable.Underneath the instruction booklet is the check valve assembly. There is a rubber adapter connector on both ends with stainless steel clamps. So this is ready to hook up to PVC pipe that you supply, so you can do a custom run for your water removal. The pump itself, has two electrical connections, as in two power cords to plug in. Without reading the instructions yet, it appears that one cord powers the switch for the float switch, and one powers the pump itself. ( The instructions call this a tethered switch) Of the pump, near the output is a inch and a half threaded fitting, again ready for your PVC connectors to fit inside. One plus for the plug that they've made on the two power cord setup is that the plug is designed with male prongs and a female receptacle built into it, so you can plug both lines into a single electrical outlet.Looking at the instructions, they do know that your sump pump needs to be set on a sump basin that has a solid foundation. You should not sit this pump on a sandy or combination rock and sandy surface. If you sent this on a Sandy surface, it's going to be drawing in sand instead of water and I'm certain that'll clog the pump very quickly. If you get a clogged intake screen, it's not going to pump at all.The way the pump is designed, you can set this up for automatic operation or use it manually.The bottom line on this pump? Other than their unusual setup for the float switch with a separate power cable, this seems to be a fairly robust and simple system that should last for a long time.

Powerful sump pump from a brand we trust. This is an upgrade over our old 1/3 HP pump and the extra HP is very noticeable when doing a transfer test.

This pump is amazing. It moves a ton of water and very quickly at that. Pumps my sump down way faster than my old pump did. It runs a couple times a day and has worked flawlessly so far. I like the check valve feature. It’s also very quiet

This water pump made quick work on draining my pool so I could do some maintenance on the electrical. Very easy to use and the auto shut off prevent running dry. This pump is also lightweight so transporting it is not an issue.Overall, a great choice if you need a sump pump.
