Wonderful
Nothing burns, nothing sticks to the bottom, nothing stains... it's really nice. It's really big, but also really nice. It keeps the heat and takes it all around the pan, not just the middle. I was able to make a full pan of goulash in it, when normally I'd have to use a large pot and with the pot being so deep, it wouldn't cook at the same temperature all through it. With this pan, it cooks very evenly. And when done, it all just slipped right out, no sticking to the bottom or places of burning at all. Easy clean up. And the lid is perfect... that little cut out allowed me to drain off hamburger grease so easily without dirty ingredients up another piece of equipment. And it allowed some steam to get out, but not all of it, which kept the moisture level just perfect. So far, so good. Love this pan.

A great pan!
I'm 72, so I have bought many a non-stick pans during my almost 53 years of marrage. I remember buying my first Teflon pan and thinking how great it was to have a non-stick pan and then of course it would start to eventually peal off (we didn't know then how harmful it could be). There have many brands out there through the years and some I have tried and again not realizing the full extent of some of the chemicals. I'm happy to have found a brand that has taken out those harmful chemicals. This is the second pan I ordered like this. The first one had some rough spots on the inside of the bottom of the pan so I contactedWaxonWare to ask what it could be and they asked me to return it so they could Check it out. They were very nice. Because I loved the other two pans I bought from WaxonWare I ordered this one again. It was perfect. I always season my pans with canola oil before I use it the first time. It heats up quickly on medium heat and cooks evenly so there is no need to cook on high heat. More importantly they do not contain those harmful chemicals that Teflon has. I would love to get some of the other pans this company sells, but I'll have to wait until I can afford them. I have always said that if you're going to spend your money you're better off buying quality over quanity for anything you buy. Thank you!

It's a little different looking, but works just great!
This pan is very nice looking, though a little unusual. My wife bought it for me as I wanted a second 9" pan. When it came, it was a lot deeper than she has anticipated, but that's one of the things I love about it. I'm not sure why it's recommended that you not use cooking spray, as I can't see why it would hurt the pan if it's cleaned properly. In most cases, there's no need for oil or a spray as the pan is very "non-stick", but sometimes I like to cook some very thin food (like eggs), and even the slightest stick is annoying. Yes, that's being too picky, but I have to honestly say that so far I like this skillet much better than my other 9" skillet, which cost twice as much as this one. One more thing about this pan is that the heat distribution is excellent in my opinion (I use a gas stove for what it's worth). I think I read something about this pan being usable in the oven; I'm not sure about that nor tried to use it that way.

Coating is short lived
First of all, in the interest of transparency, this review is not about the 9.5 inch pan with lid, which I also own but have not yet used. The poor review has to do with the 8" Marbellous fry pan which has been quickly dropped by Amazon and is no longer available directly from the WaxonWare website either. I must have bought the last one. Bottom line, things started out great. Nothing sticks to this surface. After several false starts with other brands of so-called non-stick pans, I thought I had finally found the gold standard. I bought this 8" pan in February and this review is being written in March. I have never put the pan in the dishwasher, instead hand washing with mild Dawn detergent (it's safe enough for birds as demonstrated after the Gulf oil spill) and using only wooden spoons and silicon spatulas. Yesterday I was hand washing as usual when I felt something rough--thought it was a piece of food. Nope, it was a shard from the non-stick coating coming off on my finger, sharp edges and all,, exposing bare aluminum underneath. Then I looked closer to the cooking surface and saw multiple blisters in random places. I have never exposed this pan to high heat, keeping the burner to a medium or medium high for a short time, then reducing heat to low or simmer. It did a great job while it lasted, especially with eggs but now I cannot trust it and definitely don't want to ingest pieces of the coating in my food. So that's my story. I don' t think I got more than 6 uses out of this pan before it failed. I don't hold out much hope for the 9.5 inch pan either, but we'll see how that goes. Having treated this pan with great care, and reading some of the other reviews that pointed out the same "blistering" of the non-stick coating, I don't think this is my fault. Your mileage may vary.

This pan is so nice, I'm going to buy it twice
When I first received this pan, I was surprised how large it is. It's definitely the largest SAUTE pan I've ever used. I have been using this pan pretty much every day, for sautéing, frying, and I've even done a seafood boil. I haven't tried baking anything, as I don't trust that the handle will survive the high temperature. I recall another reviewer stating that the handle did melt under oven heat and I don't want to take a chance on ruining my favorite pan. This one pan has replaced at least 3 of my everyday cook pans. Cleanup is a breeze. A damp sponge is all I use. I even prefer this pan over my copper pans. The copper pans do have a tendency to over-brown certain foods - like bacon. Nothing has stuck, scorched, or burnt in this pan at all. Both the copper and the green pans touted that these were the last pans you will ever need to buy. Well, I bought my WaxonWare afterward, and so far, it seems THIS is the last pan I will ever need to buy. So I am definitely purchasing another one.
