An off limits, streamy friends-to-lovers romance!
Mann returns in all her storytelling glory with The Bachelor, the fifth and final standalone novel in The Dalton Family series. And ooh my, it’s the spiciest, smoochiest, and raunchiest romance I’ve read since I can’t remember when.Everyone in the Dalton family is well aware of Camden’s reputation, and his twin sister, Hannah, made it clear to him years back that her girlfriends were forbidden fruit. Oops, this is where the fun begins! It just happens that Oaklyn, her BFF, is still crushing on her brother, and he thinks she’s more gorgeous than ever. However, disrespecting his sister’s wishes doesn’t come into the equation.Oaklyn Rose drops a bombshell on Camden and asks him if he could lend a hand. Lol, my version of lending a hand here is an understatement, but a man’s got to do what he’s got to do, right? So, if she feels the same in a year, she’ll have to agree to his no emotional strings attached rule, a hand full of lessons included. Now, we all know when a woman makes up her mind, nothing will change it, and I liked that about Oaklyn. She’s bold, hard-working, all sunshine and roses—no pun intended, and game to learn how to make a man happy—guess how?Camden is the man! Love me a bossy dirty-talker, if not a grumpily confused guy who’s not ashamed to listen to advice from his friends! So far, he’s been determined to adhere to the pact, but I couldn’t have been more eager for him to deal with the obvious. He’s a real softy at heart, super protective, and a first-rate teacher in affairs of the bedroom! Well, he does have a quick learner! Sizzling intimacy hot enough to melt your e-reader, fun but swoony moments and abounding witty banter in and out of text messages were a joy to read. By the way, the subtle twist revealed towards the end is a jaw-dropper and a half!Mann involves her readers in the Dalton Group lawyer talk effortlessly, even more so with the siblings' love interests. There’s no doubt that her latest offering can be enjoyed without reading the previous novels; nevertheless, I highly recommend diving into them to appreciate the interwoven family dynamics. The Bachelor is a terrific addition to this series, and what a surprising yet magnificent send-off it was. I’d love to hear more about Camden’s best mate, Macon Spade. Not only was it a delight to observe their to-and-fro ribbing, but he’s also quite a character. Bravo, Mann!

My favorite in the series!
4.5 stars! This steamy, chemistry-filled, romance was completely addictive. Oaklyn is Camden’s twin sister’s best friend, and completely off limits despite attraction. Camden is a player and Oaklyn has dated guys but never found the one or even one good enough. Now she’s 24 and desperate to have her first time. Enter Camden who offers lessons (ahem) to scare her off but ultimately falls in love. No third act break up, low angst - but plenty of steam and tenderness, and lots of play.

author definitely saved the best for the last
Oaklyn's proposition to her best friend's brother Camden is about to be fulfilled now, a year after she first asked him. All she has to do is not catch feelings during their little arrangement, and things will be fine. But what if it's Camden, the man infamous for his bachelor ways, who catches feelings? They can never let Oaklyn's best friend/Camden's twin sister find out, because it will definitely be game over if that happens.Camden never expected Oaklyn's proposition. He can't say he's upset by it, but at the same time he's worried because though he's noticed Oaklyn for awhile, she's completely off limits. His sister told him long ago to stay away from her friends, especially her best friend, and he's kept his promise to her ever since. But now Oaklyn's come to him with her arrangement and he now has to fulfill it. All he has to do is not catch feelings, and keep it a secret from his sister. No problem because this bachelor isn't about to give his heart to someone he's not even supposed to notice. Right? These Dalton men are so freaking hot, and when they are brought to their knees by love, it's just so entertaining to read. I think of all the family, Camden just may be my favorite. He's so sweet with such a delicious way with words, and when he falls for Oaklyn, he's irresistible. And Oaklyn just might be even more lovable than the man she loves. She has such a big heart, and she isn't afraid to go after what and who she wants, but at the same time worries about everyone else's feelings above her own. As individuals they're lovable, but as a couple, they're unforgettable. I'm going to miss them and all the rest of the Daltons, but if the series had to end, the author definitely saved the best for the last.

⭐️ 3.5
The Bachelor was a steamy and enjoyable read. This is the fifth and final book in the Dalton Family series, so I would recommend just reading the prior books first for better content and backstory. It is dual POVs of the main characters, Camden and Oaklyn, and there are some great tropes like, best friend’s brother, a virgin heroine, and a friends to lovers and billionaire romance. The overall premise was entertaining and lighthearted. There were some amusing, heartfelt and enjoyable moments. I will say though, plot wise there really wasn’t much going on, as there was no drama or real conflict. The sexual relationship between Camden and Oaklyn was definitely the main focus of this book. Their banter, chemistry and connection was really nice though. Like mentioned before, there was a lot of smutty scenes, which I loved and Camden’s lessons were quite kinky. However, there didn’t seem to be a lot of depth to their relationship. There was little emotional connection or romantic development between them before they got together. So it was a bit hard for me to understand where these intense feelings were coming from. I would have liked for some snippets from their past showing their friendship or history together.Thankfully, there was no third act conflict but the ending was a bit too rushed in my opinion. The epilogue was really sweet though and seeing all of the past characters together and in the next stage of their lives was beautiful.Overall, just an enjoyable read and decent ending to this series.

Forbidden Romance but it's always been you
I am so sorry Declan Shaw...but Camden Dalton has stolen top spot and I didn't know that was possible. My gosh Marni, you really out did yourself with this one!Where to begin, this is book five in the Dalton Family series but Marni makes it possible to pick this up as a standalone...but I would highly recommend going back and devouring The Lawyer, The Billionaire, The Single Dad, and The Intern.Camden Dalton has been deemed "The Bachelor" in his circle, he enjoys woman and woman enjoy him but he doesn't do feelings or attachments, they know the score when they agree to a night with him. Oaklyn Rose is inexperienced in the bedroom....and wants Camden to help her with the pesky little problem that is her v-card....the only problem is Camden is Oaklyn's best friends brother and goes through woman like they are going out of style. But she has made up her mind...if she doesn't do the deed in one year, Camden Dalton is the man for the job. Spoiler....a year goes by awfully fast and now it's time to make good on the deal. The fact Camden thinks his lessons will scare Oaklyn away is almost laughable...the girl is determined and she is also set on keeping feelings out of it. But what Camden isn't expecting is to be consumed by her....every single minute once the lessons begin. The way that Marni allows Camden to help Oaklyn explore her sexuality is so powerful, woman are sexual beings and they need the opportunity to explore just like men.You also get a better glimpse into Macon Spade...the poor guy doesn't know what he's put out into the universe...I can't wait for it to hit him like a tonne of bricks.

A easy sweet and steamy read!
This was one heck of a fun and spicy read!!Camden and Oaklyn have known each other since they were kids. Oaklyn is best friends with Camden’s twin sister (Hannah) - and they have always been off limits regardless of the silent attractions and feelings they both carry, but neither one knew about. One night, Oaklyn propositions the playboy and forever bachelor that is Camden Dalton to be the one to take her virginity. He agrees, with added ‘lessons’ and motives of his own.I loved watching these two together. It was so cute as they built upon feelings that were always there, but never explored. Not only did we have some sweet moments but Camden and Oakland really brought the heat!Seeing Camden allow himself to be in a relationship and feel deeper along with the comfort he had with Oaklyn was fantastic. I loved how Oaklyn wanted to learn more about her body and things she enjoyed, she is so caring, smart and kind. Camden really was the perfect person for her and this step she wanted to take. These two were always meant to be, they just had to give it a chance and be given the opportunity.I am sad that the Dalton Family series is over, but this book was a great way to finish the series off. We even got to catch up with the rest of the couples!I look forward to Marni Mann’s next series, the hints of Macon Spade we got were so great!4 ⭐️
