The Slant Book & The Rocket Book: A Collection of Two Classic Children's Stories Paperback – August 3, 2022

Somebody gave it to me 35 years ago, I gift it to every expectant mom I know. It’s pure fun to read to your kids.

The entire point of this book, which is literally published on a [non-squared] slant, is the interplay between the all-askew images and a raucous text. To reduce it to this text-only version—even if this Kindle edition is free—is just a cheap (or I suppose gratis) tease. Better just to remove this from the Kindle store.

It was one long.string of poetry. It was unusual and funny. Although, it lost a.little of it's charm with printing-style.

My sister wanted these books that my mother had (Mom's were the originals). So cool and so silly. Fun to enjoy. Adults or kids.

If you aren't familiar with the work of Peter Newell, you should be. His work often invites the format of the book to engage in the story telling. Its definitely a classic and a must read. Receives a 4 out of 5 star rating only because the old school illustrations do not meet the cutesy requirements of today's children's literature. Although clever and funny, the pictures are seen by some as a little scary. The scary baby rolls down the bill in his baby carriage--rather than the cute baby doing so.

My mother read this book as a child - 1910 or so - and found a copy of it for me and I read it to my children - who loved it!! They're now in their 50s. I bought this for a friend who has twin granddaughters and I thought they'd love it, too. Great book - good books never age out!

Came well within the expected date, good quality. No problems with this seller at all. Am pleased with purchase. Would recommend.
