Topo's Are My Go-To Trail Shoes!
I love these shoes - they fit my feet and running needs so well! I've studied and experimented with running shoes systematically for 35 years as I use them, and these are currently my go-to shoes for trail and ultra running. Most unique is the slightly wider toe box, which has finally eliminated me getting blisters. And unlike Altra, they have a heel drop, and last much more than 200 miles- where Altra's usually start to die. I got 500+ very abusive miles out of my last pair of Topo's. These Topo's have a balance of great cushioning yet with sufficient pronation stability. I give mine serious abuse on intense trails, and off-trail ridges, and they just keep on rocking!

Yay for the fit!
I have what you would call a duck foot. Suppet wide up front and a bit narrow in the heel. I have lots of problems with shoes as a result. Most brands simply don't have enough room in the type box. Even altra trail runners, which I've worn for a few years, don't fit great. I finally went to a runner's specialty shop and had my very imaged. Bought a pair of Topos they're and all my problems were solved. I followed that by ordering these trail runner's on amazon (better price and better customer service than other sites) and the fit is wonderful too.I typically wear a 9 but have to size up for some brands. With these, I did size up to 9.5 and they worked out well.

Great for long-range groomed runs
I’m a heavier runner (205lbs) and needed something comfortable for longer runs over 5 miles. These have definitely fit the bill.Positives- Sufficient cushion for longer runs and heavier runners. Great grip and fit. Nice and breathable, too.Less positives- the extra cushioning obviously means extra height, placing your foot farther from the trail. This results in slightly less stability. While these are perfect for dirt roads or flat/groomed trails, I wouldn’t wear them for technical trails or those with significant side hilling. This might not be an issue for a lighter ultra runner, though...I recommend these.

Hidden gem
These are in the top 3 of myfavorite trail running shoes. This is my second pair of this model. They have plenty of cushion for long training days and the shape of the shoe suits my foot. The heel holds tight, while the forefoot allows your toes plenty of space to move, meaning that when your many hours into an ultra, your foot can spread out..I also find this shoe transitions well to the road for a short distance getting to and from the trail (2-3miles)In m experience they hold up very well with my first pair having well over 200 miles on them now, and still have descent tread left. The grip from the Vibam XS is excellent.I can’t speak to wet muddy conditions as I’m in the desert. But I did use the MTN Racer for a 100k mountain ultra in which it was muddy for awhile and the shoe performed admirably, even tho it’s a slightly different compound.I highly recommend this shoe if you need a bit of extra space and want a comfortable all around shoe.

Waterproofing is great, laces fall apart, soles delaminate
The media could not be loaded. I really liked the fit, light and with arch support inserts a very nix shoe. Not waterproof of course, but good and breathable. The lace fell apart quickly.Medium support and big spot for toes.decent cushion, but soles constantly needed to be glued back together.

Great shoe
I have been wearing Altra Lone Peak. While I like the shoe the top material always felt flimsy and not supportive. I read a review on the Topo Athletic Ultraventure Trail Running Shoe and decided to try the shoe. I love it. While not zero drop it is minimal. The shoe is comfortable and the material used on the body of the shoe is very supportive. Now of course this is my opinion. As with any shoe what feels good on my foot may not be right for you. But if you have a local store that stocks the shoe I would recommend trying on a pair to see if you like them.

No toe protection!
These are the worst trail shoes I’ve ever owned in terms of protection. Which is a bummer, because they’re otherwise comfortable, breathable, and have good traction, but I’ve worn them for two 100 milers and have horrifically embedded six toenails between the two races. I’ve never had that happen in any other trail shoe and this isn’t my first rodeo. There is zero toe protection. You might as well be hitting your bare toe on that rock or root. I didn’t even hit hard one of the times and my toe is a bloody mess with a displaced nail. I’ll never race in these again, shouldn’t have even given them that second chance. I usually get through long run without bumping anything, if you can get through a “hundo” without hitting a clumsy point where you’re going to bump your foot here and there, good on you, but most people running ultras in these will be unnecessarily losing toenails.

Best wide toe box hiking shoes out there
When I first started wearing trail runners with wide toe boxes (I started with Altra lone peak) it felt like a revelation. I didn't get blisters between my toes wherever I'd walk for 15 miles or more. But these shoes take it to a new level for me. They have a decent amount of cushion, lots of stability, great breathability, they're very durable, and they are lighter than their competitors. In my opinion and for my feet, they are the best long distance hiking shoes I've ever worn. I bought a second pair after 100 miles just so I wouldn't have to worry about getting a new pair when my current ones wear out.

Très bon produit
J'utilise ce modèle depuis plusieurs années, mais ne durent pas plus d'un an car au niveau de la cheville la chaussure s'aggrandit au fil du temps

The best running shoes I have owned
These shoes have all the qualities advertised:Roomy toe box, stable grip on heel and ankle, good arch support, the right amount of padding, a sole I can trust on all kinds of surface, and an easy lacing system that stays tied. The sizing was exactly as the table showed.Highly recommended.
