Weight is what matters. I believe it's recommended to not go above 46 pounds. Yes you can get a canopy. Make sure you take the canopy off when folding the stroller(it only takes a second). The stroller and seat are well worth every penny. We use ours constantly.

Q: Are there online instructions for installing this? Specifically how the straight peg on front gets connected?

The peg in front sits on the footboard of the stroller.

Q: Can the Joey seat be folded with the stroller?

I emailed the company. They said yes it can be but it’s tricky.
