Fun

Why did you pick this product vs others?:The DEERC RC Plane is an absolute blast and perfect for beginners of all ages—kids and adults alike. It’s easy to fly right out of the box thanks to the 6-axis gyro stabilizer, and the controls are super intuitive. The three included batteries give you plenty of flight time for real fun, not just a quick spin. Durable, lightweight, and forgiving during crashes—great for learning without frustration. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to dip into RC flying without the steep learning curve.

I like it

Great little 2 ch plane. This will live in my truck for opportunistic flying. The price is Great! If you want a plane that can be flown out of the box with no experience, crashed all day long with no real consequences and fits under the seat in your car, this is it. Plus, It's cheap enough to allow for some reckless play. I plan to get another so my son and I can dogfight. This would be an excellent gift for a kid (of almost any age) with no prior rc plane experience. Yeah, it's more of a toy than a serious rc plane, but if crashing results in laughter, not tears, I won't complain.A little tail heavy out of the box, but still flyable, just a little fluttery. I added some putty (designed for attaching posters to the wall) to the nose. Makes it fly a little faster, but more controllable and lets it handle a little more wind. Still a little tail heavy, so I might play with adding more putty. As is, it flies well in a small space (not a living room, but definitely in a good size yard). With more nose weight it might be faster and require more space. More nose weight will probably require more throttle and thus reduce flight time (use up your battery quicker).I like that the throttle returns to zero when you release the stick. If a crash is immanent you just let go and hopefully save the motors and props.Shakes off crashes well, and looks easy to repair. I've crashed it plenty and no damage so far. Probably won't hurt a car or building or person in a crash. Location of props makes it unlikely that they will break, but it came with 2 extras. The box makes a nice storage/transport case. Throw in some tape, a stick of hot glue and a mini lighter and you can probably make all your repairs in the field.Flight time is ok, but it came with 3 batteries and they charge fast, so I bet you could keep this in the air indefinitely as long as you have more than one charger (mine came with 2!).Landing gear doesn't stay in, so I haven't tried it, but you could glue it in. I'd use hot glue, then just heat the wire to remove it later if I wanted to. Flies fine without it, you just can't take off from the ground without it.The battery compartment is tight; requires some fiddling to get the battery and plug to fit. Probably the weakest element of the overall design. I worry that I'll wear out the thin wires in the plug with all the fiddling. I might remove the plastic cover and just use blue painters tape to hold the battery in place. That will make switching batteries easier while extending the lifespan of the plug wires. The lights are Awesome! I love that you can turn them on and off from the remote. I haven't tried night flying, ever, but I will! The lights are a different color at the nose than at the tail, so orientation can be maintained in the dark.Only one caution: LiPo batteries can be dangerous if handled carelessly. Even small ones can burn your house down. Learn how to handle them safely. Play responsibly!

Great Adventure

This item was purchased for my 7 year old grandson. However, his dad and grandpa are enjoying this plane too! It’s durable, reliable and fun flying this beginner plane! It’s a wonderful addition to summertime fun!

Write your name on it! 🤣

**NEW**Hack: Used a paper clip(s) to make my own landing gear replacement(s).Warning: if the controller is turned off or goes out of range, the plane will continue with the last input - and keeeeeeeps flying… which explains my first outing (story time below) when it went waaaayyyy outta range.Paper Clip story:The landing gear came off after the fifth outing. The plane flew fine without it, but we didn’t like that it would crash on the switch (which is located on the belly of the plane), and could potentially slam into hard or wet surfaces. So I found a small paper clip that was about the right gauge of the original landing gear, and it seems to work fine as an expendable replacement. And now that we’ve been at it a few times, the kiddo is better at flying longer (landing it less), and landing more softly, so we aren’t losing them as often. The landing gear slot doesn’t have a locking mechanism, so we the landing gear (replacement) still comes off, but I don’t have to get in as much of a tizzy because I know we can replace it. No, I didn't try making/replacing wheels cuz I didn’t have anything light enough (yet). You can’t do a rolling takeoff from the ground… but we couldn’t really do it with the original wheels anyway, so not that big of a diff. It’s been about a 30 - 45 min outing with the three fully charged batteries.**Original Review**The plane is super easy to fly. My seven year old learned to how to take off and land in a few tries. I was pleased that he was very interested in reading the instructions as normally he doesn’t want anything to do with books/learning. The pack also comes with spare propellers, three batteries for the plane, and two chargers (standard USB connector) for the plane batteries; you will need to supply 3 AA batteries for the controller. You have the ability to turn off the (what was once annoying) lights underneath the plane if you want to. We left ours on - it saved the plane! Recommend you write your name, contact info on it… the range on it is too good! 🤣Story time!!!So… we learned a good weather lesson the day after Christmas when the plane took off and didn’t come back. We were in a nice open park, no obstructions for 200 ft around. But once the plane climbed higher than the surrounding trees it was gone. The wind picked it up and the plane accelerated towards the edge of the park. I prompted my kiddo to bring it back, he showed me that he no longer had controls of the plane - we had lost the ability to control direction of flight. My heart sank. I aimed the camera in the direction of where I saw it last a few extra seconds and stopped recording. After putting on my best brave face, we changed our gears into a search and rescue mission. We reviewed the video - found a flash of neon pixel spiraling down (I had never been so happy to be proven wrong about something - the lights are a must when you’re looking for the darned thing), and launched our door to door campaign to recover our favorite present. After meeting thirtyish of our neighbors looking for our downed aircraft, I was about ready to call it quits, and started drafting the “lost airplane” poster in my head. That’s when the Boxing Day Miracle happened. I looked up at the next neighbor’s roof. No way! There was our plane. 750 ft away … it managed to land not in the trees, not in a yard, but on an street-side-eave of the last house we checked. It was a tearful reunion of joy.I’m not flying for a while. But when I do, imma write my “Return to…” info before takeoff. If you’ve got a way to track it… do it.

A lot of fun with a little practice

Lots of fun to fly. Takes a little bit to figure it out how to fly it. Ive been able to have two of the three batteries on the chargers allowing for non stop play, a battery is always charged up when I need it. I think one of my motors is a little better than the other one, but not enough to cause an issue. Seema tough. My 2 year old has bent it a few times and it seems to hold its shape. Cant get the wheels to stay on, but its whatever really. For 35 bucks its worth it. Ill buy another if this one dies or gets lost or stuck in a tree.

Second day of flying it... and it literally flew away on its own.

Second day of flying it... and it literally flew away on its own.Yes - my son was having a blast, little to no wind, and at some point the plane became totally unresponsible. He tred to cut the motors off, but that did not work. Plane kepts going up and up, until it drifted away. Unbelievable how unreliable this thig was. I would not recommend it, unless you want to deal with a very sad boy/girl at some point after the plance flies away as ut did for us.
