can they be used to drill 5mm mild and stainless steel?

I wouldn’t use on SS they struggle with M/steel

Will these drill holes in Perspex?

Never tried it but it works fine on a plastic water tank. Just use low speed and take it slowly

can these be resharpened

If you use the right drill speed for the material and some cutting paste they last very well. I have had these for a while and have found the only problem to be when cutting stainless steel which needs a slow speed and plenty of cutting paste. I have not tried sharpening then but at a tenner for three just be careful !

Can they be used in a standard bench drill with a standard chuck being hex shanks?

I have now used these on both my Mikita mains powered and 18 volt cordless drills and have not encountered any problems whatsoever. I hope that this helps.
