Inexpensive and does the job!
I have an external hard drive I've used for many years now. So many years, in fact, that I am growing concerned of failure at some point. I had a 500GB SSD lying around that I pulled from an older computer, and I figured my best bet was an enclosure, since they are usually inexpensive and work well. This one doesn't disappoint. It was quite easy to open even with my stiff joints and hand weakness, and my SSD fit inside perfectly. There were sponges to use in case the SSD was a bit too small, which is convenient for those who might need them. A standard USB cable is included. A thinner, less rigid one would have been nice, but it is sturdy, and I can always grab my own if it came down to that. Nothing to take a star off for! All in all, a nice enclosure at a good price.

Inexpensive and Works as Promised
I have ordered over 1,000 items from Amazon over the past decade and I normally only review items that are great or horrible. I'm happy to say that these cases (I ordered black, white and blue) and they are great and very affordable. The cases are simple and look nice, but the important part (for me) is the data transfer speed. I actually got these to move existing external drives to these cases in order to improve their performance (and they have definitely met their claims). Please see screen shot of data transfer rates of a (very inexpensive) SSD in this case. Please note, my goal was not to rate the speed of the SSD, but instead confirm the high data speeds you can get with a decent drive inside this case. I do have one 'tiny' suggestion for a future change is to move the little bumps on the bottom of the cases to align with the (design) depression on the top of the cases so that they can be stacked and not slide around. Granted, most people don't have 6 external drives like I do, and so I just add little adhesive rubber feet to the drives. I also wanted to mention that the merchant sent me an email asking if I was satisfied with their products, offered any resolution to any problems or questions I might have. Great job and I'm VERY happy with these cases!

Works, but feels flimsy
I need to transfer data from a drive in a dying computer, and this iDsonix enclosure fit the bill (USB C connector, claimed fast transfer, low price). It arrived quickly, and my drive (Sandisk SSD) fit in easily and securely. However, the plastic case feels rather flimsy. It is thin and lightweight (won't play well with a stiff USB cable, since it has very little mass), but overall protective enough for desktop use. I did not put much effort into benchmarking the case, but was able to see over 400MB/sec read speeds as I copied data off the drive. One surprise was that the iDsonix brand is owned/produced by ORICO. In selecting this product I deliberately steered away from some similarly priced ORICO offerings, mostly because with so many redundant products I could not gauge the relative quality of the units available. I was hoping that iDsonix would be a more focused brand with fewer SKUs, but it seems to be just another avenue for ORICO to broaden their catalog of cheap hard drive enclosures. I probably wouldn't buy this model again based on that alone, and likely would spend more on a product from a better known brand if I were to do this again.

No tools, easy to use, for SSD
I have some extra SSDs I keep for backup and had one without an enclosure so picked this up. I've had a couple enclosures that claim to require no tools but then take a crowbar to get into, but not this one. It slides open very easily and you can put a 9.5mm or 7mm SATA SSD in without any fuss or stress. Really appreciate that they also include two self-adhesive foam pads as well so that thinner drivers don't bounce around if you are transporting them. The blue LED is kind of hard to see, but actually I like that for working at night, which is when I do my backups. The cable is also a decent length (12 inches). Overall, a recommended buy for an external SSD.

Well Made. Works Well. Improvements Needed.
This product seems well made and works well. The case shells fit perfectly and clicked shut tightly. The foam “shock absorber” is a nice thought. USB C is a plus. The older Mini USB 3.0 (2 connecting plugs) or micro USB are outdated. Some nuances: it is plastic and the grill is made-believe. To open it, you push the top shell 1/8” and lift the lid out. Don’t try to push the lid out entirely, it won’t slide out. There is NO air circulation when the case is shut tight. I made some improvements for air circulation by drilling 5 holes on the top and the bottom shells. Because the drive fits flat on these holes, I drilled additional 4 smaller holes at the 4 corners of each shell. I do know that the price is so low for what we get. So it’s still a value for me for a back up drive that is used only occasionally.
