Vital Essentials® Freeze-Dried Raw Beef Entree & Mixer Dog Food Crunchy Mini Nibs, 14 oz

This product is made with high grade food that is freeze dried. By freeze drying it keeps the vitamins and minerals in tack and gives your dog an excellent meal. This is much better than some of the other dog foods on the market. I highly recommend it!!!

This product was received within a weeks time and is well packaged as usual. We've been purchasing this specific brand for our Golden Retriever for approximately two years now. We certainly like the fact that it's grain and gluten free (made with beef, liver, heart and kidney). This product was recommended from our veterinarian because of its overall health benefits for Harley. As the labeling states, there are no fillers, flavorings, coloring, corn, wheat, soy, legumes, nor rendered by-products....the simpler the ingredients, the better. At first, we used this product for training purposes and worked great. Highly recommended.

I have a very picky Yorky and a big bag of food she won't eat. I found that dehydrated chicken treats worked really well for her but wanted to try something new. I went for this raw dehydrated beef, and she picks at it through the day and night. I'm very happy that I found something with nothing extra in it but beef. It's not cooked to death, but most importantly, she likes and eats it. We're on our second bag now and as long as she eats it, I will be buying it.

My trainer told me she uses it rather than snacks because it's actual food. You don't have to worry about your dog getting fat while you're teaching basic command. He is very eager to please when he know that this is his reward

In short: the dogs like it, but they prefer the soft nibs over these dense nibs.We don't use these as a main meal, nor at every meal, but as part of the dinner menu. My dogs enjoy a post dinner treat toy. Sometimes I add "treats", sometimes it is their regular kibble mixed with treats. But that doesnt go over real well, haha.. So usually it is just an assortment of healthy treats. Amount is taken into consideration so as not to give them too much.Not long ago I had the opportunity to try Vital Essentials Freeze Dried Raw Duck Entree & Mixer Dog Food Soft Nibs (free isnt free) which I used as a kibble topper. Then it occurred to me that this would make for a perfect treat toy filler as they really seemed to like it as a "treat" yet it would provide them all the nutrition. I was curious to try other flavors, so I ordered this beef. I now see that the other ones are a soft nub (like a compressed powder that can easily be pinched into powder if sprinkling over food) and these are a more compact lightly crunchy nib. Not hard, but they are hard in comparison to the other.My dogs prefer the soft nibs, but will also eat this. Perhaps they just prefer the duck flavor.Not sure if this will be a repurchase for us, but I know the other kind will be.Good product worth trying. I don't rate on price. You will have to decide if this suits your budget or not.
