small pieces cuttlebone

Nice big bag of real cuttlebone. My mystery snails love it. It tends to float though, so boil it first then place it in your aquarium if that's what you're using it for.

Some of my birds do not use the cuttle bone that hangs. So I take some of this cuttle bone and put it in a processor and turn it into little pieces/dust and sneak it in the food. That way I know they are getting the calcium they need. The price is really good if you think about how much you spend on the individual ones. I’m so glad the finally starting selling this in such a big bad. This is such a better deal especially if you have more than one bird. I keep mine in the refrigerator in a container as well.

Skeptical about this, I'm not a genius nor do I claim to know my Cuttlebone but, this stuff floats a few days before sinking, lasts forever in tank, my snails completely ignore it (both my Mystery and pest Rams and Bladders). After leaving in the bag for a year I see some weird separating like the pieces were molded then crushed and there seems to be some kind of dry gelatin looking planar membrane on some of it. Anyways, I quit using it as none of my aquatic pets go after it, it will remain in tank for way over 6 months, doesn't foul anything but doesn't seem to deliver a benefit either, and could be considered unsightly. I purchased for my shrimp tank, the small pieces work perfectly.

I use these in my fish tanks. The snails and some of the fish and shrimp like them. They are perfect size to just toss 5-6 pieces into the tank every now and then. This bag will last me a really long time even though I have three large tanks.

Size of the bag was fabulous, but it was crushed to the point where it was only powder looked nothing like it did in the picture. The only chunk that was in it was the hardshell part. I bought this for my turtles. Where are usually buy a different brand I will not be buying this again. Would not recommend unless you want powder then just buy powder.

I filled a bowl for my cockatiels and they like it. The piece sizes range from large chunks to practically dust.
