Easy to assemble and striped great but don’t expect to have perfect gold stripes/
It really depend on how tall your grass is and how thick and healthy it is. To get the best look use fertilizer and seed spreaders to get a thick dirt and lushes grass for a nice dark green grass and tall to get this perfect stripes. Another ripe is to always follow the white line once you have already created the first pass through. Sand would probably work best but could not spend to much time getting the sand in their . If you do use a funnel and get bone dry sand. And don’t expect golf course level stripes. But it really depends on your grass and level of skill/experience.

Built better than expected!
Being described as being plastic, I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. It's thick and well constructed. It's VERY important to read the directions to get the parts lined up correctly and if there's one thing that's the most important is DON'T tighten up anything real tight before you have it aligned. A sticker on the roller states to angle the rods toward the mower, but when I did that, I couldn't open the grass catcher shute and the down rods could have been a little longer for my mower. All in all, after about 20-30 minutes rearranging the alignment, I got the grass catcher shute door to open and a slight angle to the supporting rods as instructed. As for the filling of the roller with sand, I had no problem what so ever. I got a bag of play sand, (which was sold indoors so nice and dry) put a funnel in the roller and kept scooping the sand pouring it into the funnel. After reading reviews about how difficult it was pouring in the sand, I found it no issue at all. As for how the unit works, again I was pleasantly surprised. My mower is NOT self-propelled so I thought it would be super tough pushing it, but again, I was surprised. Yes, it adds extra weight to push the mower, but the roller makes it much easier than I thought, even though it does take greater effort to push the mower. And as for stripping - WORKED GREAT! Time will tell concerning the durability of the plastic parts, but everything seemed well engineered and I liked it was made and assembled in the GOOD OLD U.S.AUPDATE- Having a tough time putting stryper on and off, I devised a connector utilizing a bolt, 2 plastic bolt sleeves, 3 washers and a medium size spring loaded clip that allowed the bolt to slip through the small opening of the clip without sliding through to the larger end. Just don't over tighten the clip with the bolt , but rather let it have natural movement. So much easier to attach an remove the lawn stryper. See before and after pictures.

Stryper Feedback
This product exceeded my expectations. I used a fantastic youtube video to install the parts etc because I have trouble reading small print. Needless to say, three neighbors asked me how all of a sudden my 1 acre lawn looks like a resort. The stripes are amazing. Installed perfectly on a 21-22 inch lawnmower. If you don't have a self propelled lawnmower, you are in for a workout. The worst part (not really just time consuming) is finding the correct funnel to pour the sand in the roller. DO NOT use wet sand, dry sand only which will go much faster. Thank you for a great new hobby!

Works, but a few notes..
I bought the lawn stryper and for the most part I am very pleased.A few points to know:* You need to fill the roller with sand. Use DRY sand, most sand is not dry in the plastic bags, so a tip is to spread it out on your driveway in the sun for a few hours, otherwise the sand will be difficult to insert into the roller.* With everything on your mower you can still walk comfortably behind it, but it will take up alot of the power assist energy so be prepared to push more especially around inclines* It does make nice stripes on your lawn however they are not as pronounced as in some of the pictures.* It does make maneuvering around a bit more of a challenge, but the effort will be worth it.Overall, a very decent product and one to tell the neighbors about.
