This boat is fast. Like, ridiculously fast. And if you put it in turbo mode, it's so fast that it's hard to believe. The remote is inexpensive and not water resistant, and definitely not water proof, but it gets the job done.Going forward, it can make tight turns at high speed and it's very responsive. Reverse is... Less than spectacular, but it does work and can help you get out of a tight spot.The only real downside is that on turbo mode, you might only get about 15 minutes of running time out of it. But it's 15 minutes of rip roaring, jaw dropping fun. So, not bad? An extra two batteries are $25 and I'd really recommend getting those, because you'll want to play with this for a lot more than 15 minutes (it may last a good bit longer on the normal speed mode - which is still pretty quick - but who has time for that?)In a pool, this thing is AMAZING. If you're on the fence, definitely get it. For the price, you can't go wrong.Important note - the boat will not turn on unless it's in water, and it will not connect to the remote if it's not in water, so if you can't get it to turn on while out of the water, that's why. The fact that the motor is water cooled seems to be the most likely reason for that.Also, it comes with a silicone nose bumper / protector. If you're in a pool, you'll probably want to use it, because at top speed, this thing can crash into a wall faster than your reflexes can handle. But the shell / hull seems very durable, so it will probably handle a few high speed impacts, but I don't want to find out the hard way how many!

works well the kids love it, only thing i recommend is buying an extra battery for it.

First time use of the boat was as expected. Battery lasted as expected and it was a fun, speedy boat for my son. We charged the battery and went out the 2nd time to use it. The right/left turn on the controller stopped working, the boat would only go forward/backward. Also the senors that kick on when the boat goes in the water, stayed on even when out of water and drains the battery. Ended up returning the item. When I went to return, there was a warning of a "Frequently returned item" on the page that wasn't there when I originally bought it. It may be good for others, but beware.

I researched a lot of remote controlled boats before purchasing this one. I had a budget and wanted to get the most fun for the price. We brought it to the cottage with us. The boat has power! It handles really well in the water. As expected, it will get stuck in lillipads, etc. but our lake has a sand bottom and as long as we kept it where it was open and clear, it was very easy to manage. Really appreciated the beeps we heard from the controller when the battery is getting low. We had plenty of time to get it back to us. Per the suggestion from other reviews I bought the extra batteries which was well worth the cost. We have already suggested this to friends of ours. I would purchase again.

Great quality and really fast! We use it in the pool and it’s super fun. The battery lasts a long time and the sensor lets you know when it’s getting low which is good to know while in the water.

Purchased this before Christmas as a gift for my grandson, ordered it early to make sure it would be here on time to leave for Colorado, wrapped it and waited to head for Colorado for Christmas, after Christmas we headed for the lake to try it out and it would only turn one direction, total waste of money and due to the time I ordered it and when he got to open the gift it was past Amazons return limit so we were just stuck with it, do not waste your time or money on this RC boat! Oh ya, it was supposed to do 25 mph, it didn’t, it was way slower than another one we had that was only rated for 20 mph.
