### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great way to teach the littlest scientists about nutrition!

My son and I loved this book. My boy is almost 4. He's apparently close to the end of a picky food phase (thank God). Talking to him about what different kinds of food does to/for his body, I think, has helped hasten the end of this phase.This book came along just in time. When I found this book, I wasn't searching for a book about nutrition, but I was looking for more books in the Science Let's Read and Find Out series after the LR&FO book about electricity was a big hit with my son. Apparently, this is a new book in the series.The illustrations are great. I have added a few pictures to my review to give you an idea about how the book is laid out. There is the text of the book which talks about why it's important to eat a variety of foods and drink plenty of water, with 'real life' examples that most little kids can identify with (e.g. "Why can't I just eat chocolate covered strawberries for lunch?"). There's also sidebar type text and picture that go into more detail with specific examples of types of foods/nutrients and why we need them. You can read these sidebars out loud as you read the book, or briefly mention some things from them, or skip them completely without compromising the 'story' in the main text.I'd recommend this book for the read-aloud set on up to young independent readers.Finally, a sort of subjective opinion--kids would be well served to learn about nutrition early on--their bodies are being built out of what they put into it-- the choices they(we) make today will impact them for years or a lifetime.
