FIFINE K669D XLR Dynamic Microphone Metal for Vocal, Recording

I meant to by the condenser version by the same company which has a similar model number. Anyway, can't say it was a happy accident but the quality of this mic means I'm definitely getting the condenser version from FIFINE. I've not used expensive mics or even a Shure 57/58. I have some cheap Audio Technica and unknown brand dynamics. They cost about $20-$40 I'm guessing about 30 years ago for comparison. This mic sounds better than those. It has the usual lower end boomyness of dynamic mics but it captures the higher frequencies well imo. I've only used it on vocals and I think it sounds fine. A $1000 mic isn't going to add much, if anything, to my voice. This is a perfectly good mic as far as I'm concerned. Keep in mind I'm a hobbyist with no experience with pro gear, whatever that means. The build seems to be of good quality. Metal enclosure and is pretty heavy for a mic. Includes a table top tripod which is cool. Good mic for the price.

As a self-funded podcaster who has not "blown up" yet, these are good sounding options for those that are not yet in the SM7B club. I also needed four of these to accommodate a group of interviewees so four mics for < $150 (at that time) was a great option for me. Since I have some audio engineering skills, I can shape the small imperfections out in post, so this may not be for the less technically minded. These mics seem to boost the lows in order to create richness - unfortunately, this also picks up movements from the interviewees, bumps against the boom stand, etc. To combat this, I use suspension-style shock mounts on the booms (Versus the included hard shock mounts) as well as an EQ preset I have in audition. Add in some compression and noise gating and now you have pro-sounding podcast. I was pleasantly surprised at the rich, radio-host like quality and clarity I was able to extract from these inexpensive mics. I was also pleased at the amount of side/rear sound rejection - there was little to no bleed between mics, as we had three interviewees right next to each other on a couch; each with their own mic. If you have a few tech skills, you can make these sound very professional. May not be the best option if you just want to "record an post" without some post production tweaking.

For the price...the quality of the build and the quality of the sound this is the best microphone you'll buy today...

This is an outstanding mic that can hold its own against pretty much any mic I have tried under $200. I used mine for over two years without issues (it still works great). I struggled with upgrading and did so only because I found an Electro-Voice RE320 used-mint (i.e., new) for $190. It is not a perfect mic for all voices, but I haven't heard too many (if any) that it didn't sound good on. I love the size and form of this mic. I highly recommend it to anyone starting a podcast or wanting to dip their toes in the dynamic xlr waters. I ran it on a CAD CX2 and a Vocaster 2 interface, so it doesn't require a pricey interface.

I am a trained aound engineer that has worked producing live events for 28 years. I have used mics of all types and prices, some of the best in the world. This mic at $37 has no business being built this well or sounding this good! Pair this with a decent single channel audio interface and you got yourself an amazing sounding podcast! This would work well for any solo content creator or work from home professional and last you for years to come. You can't go wrong with this K669D.

For the past 10 years or so, the microphone i've been using for gaming, discord, and some audio recording has been a "ModMIc". For those who don't know, Modmic makes a headset type microphone that you attach to your headphones using a magnet. It had decent enough sound quality for what i was doing, or so I thought, and recently i ran over the cable one too many times and it has since been retired to the local landfill. I did a lot of looking around for something similar that was of higher qualty and i didn't feel their higher end modmic was what i needed, so i decided to take the plunge and get myself a proper Dynamic microphone and Audio Interface, and after watching a ton of reviews on Youtube, decided on the FiFine K669D and for the audio interface, the CAD Connect 2 CX2 24/96 usb interface with phantom power. There aren't many decent interfaces under $100 with good build quality, excellent sound quality, and can do 24bit audio. This is one of the few, and it does it well. As for the microphone, I only have my old ModMic to compare it to, but the sound quality is like comparing one of those audio tape recorders from the 90's that are used to record lectures, to a CD audio recording. When i first got it set up and logged into discord, just about every person i play games with commented on how much better i sounded. One person wasn't even sure if it was me at first. The only downsides i can think of would be the stand is absolute trash. If you put that thing on your desk, it picks up every movement you make. I tossed it aside and ordered the FiFine Low Profile Microphone Boom. I chose that one because i have dual displays and didn't want the microphone coming over the top of them. This boom allows the mic to come under the displays and then angle up towards where i keep it. Yeah, it cost 50% more than the mic itself, but it's built solid and doesn't move around much. Overall, this mic has outstanding value for the money.

Great quality sounds for a low budget cost! Would highly recommend for starting out! Mostly made of metal and holds up well!

This is easily one of the best microphones at this price point. It’s easy to set up and is definitely built like a tank! Because this is an XLR microphone, you do need an audio interface with this, I’m using M-Audio M-Track solo and it works perfectly. Sound quality is really good and this does offer a decent background noise cancellation. The only thing missing is the wind shield because it can catch plosives if you speak closely, so a distance of around 12 inches would be a good start. For now, this works really well for me and I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a budget XLR microphone.

My recording quality increased with this mic when compared to ordinary mic. Noise cancellation is good.
