Q: A question to 2017 buyer/customer please. What is the Best Before on the battery/ies?

I las bought these in July 2015 and they are still running with a Best Before of November 2017. That isn't a guarantee you will get 2 years plus when you buy, it will depend on the stocks held by the retailer, but hopefully this gives you a guide

Q: Is this battery OK for remote control for a stairlift?

The battery quality is good. I am using it for my digital multimeter, but not sure about stairlift.

Q: What is the amp/volt rating?

Each battery is 9V, (6 cells). As for current, probably wouldn't want to take more than 100mA at all, and more like 10mA continuous.

Q: This battery says best before end 2012 But now we are in 2014 is this product out of date?

Zink carbon batteries are usable many years after the date stated but the life in use will be reduced and they have a tendency to corrode and damage the equipment, especially in low drain situations. Speaking from experience I have used these batteries at more than five years out of date without problems but kept a check for signs of corrosion. I would not use them in critical situations, such as smoke alarms.
