How to Paint Your Car: Revised & Updated (Motorbooks Workshop)

I could not ask for a better book on painting a vehicle. What I like the most is that with careful reading it does prevent the reader from the many pitfalls of autopainting. When I went to a paint shop I was confident. The book has bright pictures, good advice and I advise readers to also buy the book "The complete Guide to Auto body repair" as it is helpful and can work as a two part series. I bought my paint, Air-gun, books, hand sander from Amazon and look forward to purchasing clear-coat and primer sealer.

If you're looking to paint your car for the first time then this book is a must read. It details everything a beginner needs to know to get up to speed on painting their own car.

After years of using laquer I needed to start the education process on the 21st century paints. It doesn't explain everything (the subject is too complex) but it will educate you sufficiently to ask intelligent questions.

This book contains a great deal of information that is useful to someone who is a novice in regards to equipment, materials, preparation of surfaces, and painting. All steps are explained in detail with full color photographs. A great resource.

Did not go quit far enough in some areas like in the preparation part,like what grit to use in different situation

Best guide ever! The author breaks it down in a way that's understandable and explains options for people who don't have access to a paint booth.

Excellent quality book. Answers all the questions I had on my mind and others I had yet to consider. I hoped it would cover rust prevention and cure. It does ... but goes much deeper in pre-paint preparation. It also discusses the type of painting equipment required and their correct use. This is a lot of book for little money. Beautifully presented, printed, many colour illustrations, and superbly made. Recommended.

I really enjoyed this book; reading it is like reading a conversation rather than a textbook. It's very accessible, and brings even a novice up to speed to be able to understand terminology, technique and even goes down to explain the consequences of colour choices and ROI (return of investment). I just ordered myself the body word and rust books from the same author because I loved this one so much. The photos help a lot too, especially if you're a visual learner. This book, plus whatever you find on youtube you get a great sense of what you can accomplish.

Parfait pour entreprendre un travail de remise en peinture pour un débutant et même pour quelqu'un de confirmé. Il apporte beaucoups d'astuces et de détails techniques pouvant faciliter le travail et donc le résultat final. explique également les différences entre différentes peintures, apprets et autres outils pour faire le bon choix en fonction du travail à effectuer. Je le recommande à ceux qui veulent se lancer dans la refection de leur peinture car il est essentiellement orienté vers la mise en painture par un particulier avec des moyens de particuliers (garage personnel, outillage personnel et pas de cabine de peinture évoluée)
