I have a sweet little dog who gets so excited when I arrive that he scratches like crazy on the garage door. Over a few months his claws cause a good amount of damage to my door and the casing. I needed something to fix it. To be clear, I really dislike any kind of products that would hurt my dog because I love him so much. However, I recently had the door and casing fixed and needed a solution.I bought this collar and configured it to work within five feet of the door. I also set it on the lowest setting and tested it out on my fingers to see how much it hurt. Although it did give me a little shock, it was nothing I couldn't handle for a second or two. I'd say it's rather uncomfortable and would cause me to stop whatever I was doing. I put the collar on my dog and left to run some errands. When I returned, I noticed my dog was about 10 feet from the door. No more scratching!Couple notes: first, my dog now realizes when the collar is on, he shouldn't go near the door. second, I like the fact that this devices beeps and warns the dog about a shock. It only took my dog one or two shocks to realize, when he hears that sound, move away.My hope is that after some time I can stop using the collar but unfortunately my dog has figured out that he can scratch at the door all he wants as long as the collar isn't on him. Therefore, it's now part of my routine to use the collar every time I leave the house. I do wish there was another solution but so far there's not.Overall this is great product and I would buy it again. Totally recommend it.

If the collar hadn't died, it would have been worth the price. If you still want to try it out...My 2 large dogs were escaping by digging under the fence EVERY DAY. I hear they were out urinating in public view, shoving the elderly in front of buses and committing retail theft . They immediately stopped when I installed this. So, it does work as it should. There are several places where this could be improved though. (#1 provide collars that don't die after 3 months and...)The collar module is large. Even on my large dogs, they look big. PETA people see the brick and give me dirty looks because they know exactly what it is. There aren't enough levels of shock intensity. Your options are 1) sound only - no shock, 2) light shock, 3) hell. Fortunately, hell hasn't been necessary. When shock is activated, it will continue to shock for a while even after the dog has backed away from the perimeter wire. I don't know how long the shock time is, but long enough where I've removed the collar a couple of times to stop the shock because it's excessively cruel. Battery life is short. It would be nice if it could go at least a week, but I get 5 days max. Battery life is inconsistent. One collar goes 4 or 5 days before needing charge. The other only lasts 2 or 3 days. It's not that one dog tests the system more than the other. I've tried swapping collars already. My dogs haven't jumped into the pond yet, but I don't think they have great water protection because the rubber plugs that cover the charge port keeps popping open.Note: There is a system I've used that's better in every way except price and cost to operate, the PetSafe Deluxe. My main problem with that system is the collar isn't rechargeable and the batteries are proprietary. So, you have to buy their special batteries. The batteries did last a month or so, but I felt like I was paying a subscription fee to operate it.

UPDATE: The issues was the USB cable provided. After using another that connected to the receivers, they started changing. I was sent faulty cables with my set. This could have easily been avoided with very basic quality control process in place. Not sure if the seller is at fault or Amazon. Regardless, for this reason I will not be giving 5 stars but will increases my rating from the original 1 star review. Also, Seller never reached out after I submitted this review and sent a msg about my issue.__________________________________________________Original review:No other issues but finding out now (after a few days of use) that the device doesn't charge. No light indicator, like the instruction states. I left it plugged for a few hours and it is not turning back on. I'm currently using the 2nd but when I connect to the charger for testing, it doesn't show to be charging either - no light indicator when plugged.

It says it can fit cats, but this thing is huge. They make it look tiny in the pictures. It’s actually a really good product for the low price. I wish it was actually small like it says so I can use it. It’s more for big dogs I wouldn’t even put this on a medium sized dog.

Great price for the diy person that wants to save lots of $$$$ by doing it yourself. Everything you need in one box, easy to install. Only down side I’ve found is their customer service, one of the clips on the surge protector broke, reach out to them through Amazon and never got a response. I would even be happy to buy one, but the company never responded, and no other way to contact them.

I’m sure if someone already knew how to install these it would be great, but the directions are kinda difficult to understand

I've had a system for my dogs several years ago and it worked well on my Aussie Escape Artist. Now it's a decade later, a new dog and much too big and bulky. I missed the return deadline so I'll donate to charity. Maybe someone with a huge dog will be happy to have it.

Chances are you are going to have to order additional wire and stakeout flag’s separately! The plastic do-dads meant as stakes are not durable and do not cover more than a 20ft area. Ridiculous to even include in the box. The directions are not as clear as they could be, but referring to YouTube videos helped. I am pleased with the product, however they should double the amount of wire and upgrade the stakes. Worth HALF the price!
