Connects easily to smartphone APP. Just plain works. Temps are spot-on & stable in a 12 qt tub.The APP is pretty basic for setting & monitoring (time, temp) & control, & has a large collection of recipes.Have used for various fish (haddock, salmon, tuna), for chicken thighs & breasts, & for ribeye, NY strip, tri-tip, & bison steak, Beef Bourguignon, pork chops, lamb chops, carrots, cabbage wedges so far - all turned out superb. re comments that the APP frequently disconnects, no big - the unit continues to operate at the set temperature, & to reconnect, merely close the APP & reopen it.

I sometimes wondered what's the big deal about the sous-vide, and that's the consistency. Whether you cook your food for 2 hours or 2 days, the consistency is what makes or breaks the result. This thing is simple and it just works - set it up, dial in the temperature and it's doing its job as long as you do yours. Straightforward, works, what else do you need?

This is a must have cooking aid. I have done steaks, chicken and pork chops. All were perfectly cooked and cut with a fork tender. It is so easy to brown the meat in a sautee pain with a little oil and butter, 20-30 second a side and dinner is served!

This is a genuine piece of garbage. You have to use app to set and maintain temp and timer. App spontaneously disconnects without warning or alarm that it has disconnected, so unless you constantly monitor the app, it will shut off stopping the heating and circulation of the water bath without notification of a problem and you are left wondering how long your food was actually kept at the designated temp. Additionally, the set temp varies up and down by SEVERAL degrees when it is actually running. And, best of all, this was a gift, so by the time it was opened and used the return window had closed, by 9 days! Horrible, horrible, horrible. DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!! (BTW, I was forced to give this 1 star in order to submit the review - I would have preferred zero.)

I wanted to try cooking steak sous vide and this product worked flawlessly. All I had to do was plug it in, fill the container with water and press the play button.I used it for a couple of new york strip steaks from Costco and set it for 130 deg. 2.5 hiurs later I seared the steaks and they were great.It comes with an app that lets you control it remotely as well but I would rarely use that as it is easy to just set it manually.

I don't know how this would handle in a very large container and more than 3 items, but it is excellent for my needs. Heats quickly and holds temp well. Really like the app feature, which is easy to use, but there are no controls on the device itself other than the power light. Easy to clean and store.

After hearing about the results sous vide cooking can provide, I've always wanted to give it a try. When I saw the latest version of Anova's precision cooker at a great price, I pulled the trigger. First up was a rib eye. It was better than the steak house and it was SO SIMPLE! Bagged the steak, put it in a pot of water, set the time and temperature using the free version of Anova's app, and two hours later finished on the grill for the best steak I've ever had. Perfectly cooked and fool proof. I've also always wanted to try low and slow cooks like ribs, brisket, and pulled pork, but didn't want the hassle or expense of smokers. My second cook was a brisket flat and it did not disappoint. 48 hour cook set up out of the way in my garage and then on the grill to finish. Now my family and neighbors think I'm some sort of BBQ King. So easy. So good. Thanks Anova!

The device looks great. More importantly it maintains 0.1 degree accuracy. So, I've been delighted with the yogurt it produces.
