Basically, this is a self powered umbrella that will scoot itself down the drain pipe with a jet in the front o cut though any muck that it might encounter. This also makes it vastly easier to get to go around 90's and such, all i had to do was pull it back a few times and let it go and it'd get though anything. The ideal is if you can go uphill, so for me i have a clean out near the septic that i used to enter the pipe. Once i put it in and had it facing the right way, i pulled the triggers on the pressure washer and it took off like a bottle rocket... I was not expecting it to be so well self powered, but i was super happy with it. Once it slowed down for a distance (for me, this was it going though grease) i started pulling it backwards, in this way it operations like an umbrella that you put it and opened and pulled out, with the main jets pushing it backwards. It took a completely clogged 4 inch pipe, full of grease and nastiness and made it spotlessly clean (based on my drain camera). I'm SERIOUSLY IMPRESSSED. Now, we can go over when you cannot start from downstream, as i had one pipe, which was the most clogged that i simply couldn't get to from downstream. As before, no problem poking a hole though it, and the water instantly started flowing once it did to, but i wanted a spotless pipe here too, especially since this one was the worst. I did the same thing with pulling it back, and i was able to pull out most of it though the cleanout. There was a section that was past the 90 degree, where i didn't expect that this would work, so i let it go past, then released trigger and pulled it back, and went back and forth several times. This cleaned the pipe as well as the downstream way, it merely took longer because you have to let the water carry it with gravity.. I checked further down the pipe and the grease didn't get stuck further down, so this will work perfectly well if you can't start downstream of the clog, it'll just take a bit longer to clean up that way. In short, this is best tool I've ever bought (in regards to how it worked compared to my expectations). The only down side is that i'm now irritated that i didn't have it many years ago! The snake pulls itself down the line so it’s easy to know when it hits something. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Instant resolution *by B***Y on October 14, 2023* Wow, this beat the auger and water hose and totally cleaned my main drain line that collects the kitchen sink, bar, utility sink, washing machine, shower and commode. It found the backup because it advances forward with jet propulsion. Then it destroys the clog with amazing force and then goes much further and will clean the whole length of pvc as it advances and you get a better result than the auger. I used a clamp on my pressure washer gun trigger and unraveled and manipulated the hose in the drain with my hands. Once the drain quits pouring out your end, keep advancing the hose and clean the whole length.
