Great quality pencils for a bargain price
I bought these, having heard good reports of them from other artists. Many bargain products fall short on quality but these pencils really do not disappoint. I already own a set of Derwent Coloursoft pencils which are very waxy and soft and I've struggled with these. I recently also purchased a smaller set of Faber Castell Polychromos which, unlike these two other sets, are oil based rather than wax based, so are harder. The Amazon Basics fall more or less between the ultra-soft Derwents and the hard Polychromos so I think I have all bases covered now. The Amazon pencils layer beautifully and respond very well to a light touch, and there's a huge range of colours. There is a good choice for blending skin tones too. They seem to be very high quality. They come in a tin with removable trays but I don't like these as they are rather flimsy. I had the same problem with the Derwent Coloursoft pencils and bought a case from Amazon for those, so I bought the identical case in a different colour for the new Amazon pencils - a neat and compact case which holds 72 pencils and has pockets inside the case for your bits and pieces. All but one of the "pages" are attached with Velcro so are removable, which is handy. I now have the 2 cases in different colours in order to distinguish between the two sets of pencils. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06Y5QZTVF?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1My only gripe over these pencils is that they are not available in open stock, which means if you run out of one, you have to buy another complete set to replace it. Amazon - please take note of this - artists do require open stock availability as some pencils get a lot more use than others.Apart from this, very thrilled with this set of pencils which are extremely good value for such a high quality product.

Great Pencils!
A great set of pencils, they are just as good as some more expensive chinese brands. Good colour selection, minimal breakages when sharpening, I will buy these again.

What happened to the tin
Had seen these on many utube reviews and they have been touted as excellent. The pencils have a excellent range of colours, are soft and creamy and really nice to use. But was disappointed that virtually every pencil broke (I'm very light handed, so not an issue I normally have). The ones that didn't after sharpening (only a few) chipped constantly. So spent a lot of time getting to know my sharpener. Other issue, albeit a silly one, every time I've seen these advertised they have come in a beautifully decorated metal tin. Mine came in a plain silver metal tin. Was a real let down, I know they are cheap, and for the cost good value but it would have been nice to get the nicer tin to keep them in. I also òbrought the 24 set as a gift but didn't get the nicer tin for those either. With the decorated tin and a little less time wasted sharpening them would have been 5 stars for value.

Excellent! Bargain! Would recommend!
These are the best coloured pencils I've ever used. I can't compare them to the more expensive brands as I've never used them, but I'm very impressed with how pigmented the are and how well they blend and lay on top of each other! At this price you can't go wrong! I bought 36 initially to see how good the were before deciding to buy the set of 72...very quickly! My teenage daughter will have the smaller set, but I'm sure she'll be trying to steal these ones soon enough! They come in nice tin! Bargain!!!

Beautifully Presented
This tin of pencils is really sleek and inviting. The 36 colours included have a really nice range of shades and they are displayed in a lovely rainbow like effect. This really makes the colours pop against the silver colour of the presentation tin.As a gift to accompany a colouring book for someone who isn't particularly arty you really can't go wrong. The price point on these is exceptionally competitive. They look really professional so the formula being a little hard and scratchy is a little disappointing as they do not blend easily or lay down a particularly dense colour when used with a softer hand, you can layer the colour or press harder to get more colour payoff but it will never match the more expensive pencils. All things considered if you just want to do a little colouring or doodling in colour to relax then this pencil set will certainly do the job at a very wallet friendly price. I got these as a gift for a colleague but I am going to get myself a set as I do like to do a little colouring from time to time and I just enjoyed the colour range and the presentation tin so much on these.

Happy customer!
Lovely colours, they colour really well and don't break off easily. I like the storage container it comes in, really nice.

Good value
I just got a set of 72 Amazon Basics coloured pencils, and the first thing I noticed is that they were REALLY well packaged: in the tin, in a plastic bag to prevent it getting scratched, in bubblewrap to prevent shocks to the large flat surfaces top and bottom from damaging the tin or its contents, surrounded by foam on all sides similarly, then in a corrugated cardboard box. If Amazon can do this for a set of 72 pencils that sells for under £9, why can't e.g. Derwent better-protect their rather more premium products? The second thing I noticed was that the colour numbers match Marco Raffine coloured pencils exactly, and the colours seem very close - if not identical - also. The cores are thick, but the round wooden barrel is quite thin.
