Effective aersol degreaser and dirt blaster
The media could not be loaded. This review is for an aerosol degreaser, branded DRDOWNPIPE THE EXHAUST REMEDY. It is supplied in a 500ml can.Marketed as a bikechain cleaner, I wanted it for a different use - to clean the bearings and steering components of RC cars. After each session in hostile conditions, such on on the beach and just touching the sea, the bearings need maintenance or replacement.I found this product to be effective in cleaning the oil and dirt/dust in the bearings, once the rubber seals are removed, and then allowing them to be soaked in oil for a few hours before refitting to the RC car. So much so, I will be buying some more for this purpose!

Summer use and lighter cleaning only
I waited to write this review until after I had the chance to properly test it by washing my bike. I’ve tried many different brands before, but this was my first time using this one. At £9.99 (at the time of writing), it’s much cheaper than others I’ve used. While I found it effective for surface dirt, even after leaving it on for a while and agitating it, it didn’t do the best job at cleaning thick grease. That’s not to say it doesn’t work—it does, but it requires a lot more elbow grease (pardon the pun) to get the job done. I’d recommend it for summer use and lighter cleaning tasks, but not for anything heavy-duty.

Effective on Light Grease
I have only used this DrDownpipe chain cleaner on my bicycle so far and the chain was admittedly only slightly greasy, but after spraying this cleaner on and wiping with a cloth the chain did immediately look better. I can't say whether it would work as well on heavily greased chains, and I haven't tried it on my motorbike yet but so far so good. After using it on your bike chains do remember that this is not a lubricant so you will need to apply something for that. The store page also talks about a sweet fragrance though I can't say I noticed anything. Maybe because I was outside when spraying it.For just under a tenner, at the time of writing, this spray is certainly worth having around to help keep your chain in good order.

Alright, but I wouldn't recommend for motorbikes
I thought id try this chain cleaner instead of my go to cleaner. In fairness my chain was pretty grubby as I am a commuter and my chain is normally lubricated with a chain wax, as it was in this case. The bike had been left for 2 weeks of no use so today was the day I thought Id give it a clean.I sprayed the cleaner onto the chain but didn't see it eating away at the grease, unlike my other cleaner. I agitated the cleaner with my chain brush and found that the wax was still pretty much in a wax form whereas my other cleaner eats away at it on contact.I gave the section of chain another good spray and this time it did seem to loosen the wax, but I wouldn't say no where as efficient as my other cleaner.I found this cleaner very hard work and used an entire can on my bike chain, but then had to do the chain again with my normal cleaner which lifted out lots of wax. My go to cleaner makes the wax drip off the chain immediately and the brush is saturated in grime.I think the main issue with this is it dries too quickly which doesn't give the product time to work.I honestly think this would be a better cleaner if it was a non aerosol and you could give the chain a good soaking with it.Maybe this product is better on bicycles which dont use such heavy lubricants.I reckon this will be good if you use a lube instead of a wax, but unfortunately because I commute I use a wax as its a bit more hardy.

Working great on my bicycle.
Motorcycle Chain Cleaner & Degreaser, Brake Cleaner 500 ml Suitable For O, X And Z-Ring:I to have used this on my bicycle to clean the chain and gear system. This has only happened once though in this 30 day period but I expect very little to change during the next occasion. The great thing about this is the size of the can and how much you get it. It will surely be enough for a motorbike but for a bicycle, I could probably get 3 or 4 maintenance rounds out of it.I wouldn't describe my chain and gearing system to be dirty but any bit of dirt build up will contribute to increased wear and tear. This works great to bring the system back to near new before getting some oil back on it.

Degreases and leaves chains clean and fragrant!
I thought I'd try this instead of my usual brand. Both cost a similar amount, apply easily and get the muc off, but this has a nicer smell. Wouldn't have thought that was important in a brake cleaner but it's a really nice fragrance! lol. But... does it clean well? Yep.The degreasing cleaner has a slight thickness to it and, when sprayed on my bike chain, stayed in place until it had worked for a few seconds before being washed off. It did a really nice job of removing months of grime and left the chain looking pretty new again. I had to apply it a few times to clean the sprockets properly as they were coated with filth, but they came up great too. This is good stuff that works like it says on the tin. I'm impressed.

Good brake cleaner
This item is listed as a chain cleaner & degreaser and brake cleaner. It is basically just run of the mill brake cleaner and nothing like the specific chain cleaner I have used on my motorbike in the past. Having said that, it is an effective cleaner for brakes etc, but evaporates much faster than specific chain cleaner, so there is little time to actually work the spray in with a brush. I will happily use it for cleaning brakes etc, but for cleaning of heavily soiled chains, I will stick with a specific product for the job.

Excellent bike chain cleaner
My chain set and both derailleurs were thick with black oil, grime & debris. I had never cleaned this chain but had regularly applied wet lube throughout winter.I sprayed on the cleaner and agitated the parts with an old toothbrush. The oil and dirt just dripped right off!Great stuff. I then sprayed it clean with the hosepipe left it to dry. I used a dry cloth to wipe any moisture away before applying dry lube. All in all, a brilliant, time saving, effective product.
