The sound is good. However, the build is pretty bad considering this is limited edition, which is much more expensive than the regular one ($120). A couple things: 1. The holes on the front and back are NOT perfect round, there are chipped edges 2. There are scratches on the knob, and the gold case If I am paying premium, I expect nothing but perfection, this one fall short.

I like it fine. It's pretty to look at and It gives a decent, neutralistic volume boost via USB. Testet with JBL Synchos S700, Denon D5000 and Bose QC15. I can't turn the volume all the way up with these low impedance cans because it hurts my ears too much. I assume this amp has enough power to get some detail out of most midfi cans with higher impedance like MrSpeakers Alpha Dog, Beyerdynamic DT880 or Sennheiser HD 650.

I have a 17" MacBook Pro. All Macs (for years) have had digital audio, but it has to be translated to analog audio to push sound through speakers, headphones, earphones, etc. And the DAC (digital to analog converter) that Apple uses isn't all that good. Plug this device into a USB port, though, and it intercepts the digital signal and translates it to analog in the most amazing way. Without giving them any details in advance, I've had many people listen to the output from headphones through this device, and they are shocked at how much more they hear. I'm generally impressed with everything NuForce produces. Good prices, quality components, very useable. I would definitely recommend this if you are an audiophile or just love great sounding music, in your office or on the road. I mainly use it on the road.
