I bought this kit several years ago and have made all of the cheeses in the recipe book a number of times. I've also regularly made a number of the recipes included in the book that can be made with the cheese once you've made it, the Ricotta and Almond Cake, and Ricotta Gnocci being particular favourites.I regularly make the Crowdie, which I use as cream cheese to go with bagels I also bake myself, Ricotta to make pasta, Mozzarella for bruschetta and salads and Goat's Cheese for pizzas.Ignore Gemma's review, which is incorrect. All of the cheeses in this kit, which you should be able to tell from the list of contents above are all soft cheeses and can be made quickly and within hours. Absolutely NONE of them take 9 months. I can only assume she is either reviewing the wrong product, or her review has ended up on the wrong product because Amazon has a habit of bunching reviews together, but I can assure you as someone who has been actually using this kit for several years, and to avoid confusion in case this review goes astray, I am referring to The Big Cheese Making Kit, Ultimate Cheese Making Kit, which includes the kit and recipes for the following cheeses: Mozzarella, Ricotta, Halloumi, Goat's Cheese, Scottish Crowdie, Quasi Blanco, Labneh, Paneer, all of which take no more than a couple of hours to make.All of the recipes work well and the thermometer and moulds are all still going strong several years later. I have also since bought a Tala jam strainer that fits over a saucepan to use to strain the cheese as I personally find it works much better than cheese cloth and is much more practical as far as cleaning and reusing.I have also contacted customer services at The Big Cheese Making Kit at the email address provided on the back of the recipe book a few times with general queries over the years, and they have always responded fast and helpfully.Overall I'm glad I bought this kit, it still gets used regularly and I buy full fat milk and cream and store it in the freezer so I can then defrost them overnight to make any of the cheeses whenever I want. This works, I've been doing it for years.The kit comes with enough supplies to make tons of cheeses, depending on how much you make obviously, but it's a good kit and if you enjoy this kind of thing, or the person you're buying it for does, it will keep you entertained for a while, and the recipes for cheese and recipe ideas for what to then use that cheese for are also excellent, encouraging you to get more involved if you want to.I would highly recommend this kit.

We had a lot fun making cheese as a family. The kit comes with everything you need, and the instruction are clear and easy to follow. We made mozzarella, and it looked and tasted exactly as it should. Our daughter was amazed with the whole process.It is definitely a good option for rainy days, and then enjoy a delicious meal (booklet comes with some recipes). We are looking forward to making some more cheese.

Surprisingly good kit! I bought this as a present to a cheese lover/cook and she's had endless hours of fun. It's essentially an adults chemistry set, that tastes delicious.The only drawback was the package took a bit of a beating, so it required a bit of finesse on the handoff to obscure the dented corner.Not noticed, so all is well.

It is presented very well, and it seems like a fantastic idea. However, we followed each recipe exactly and none of the cheeses worked. Some just didn't taste of anything, others didn't set properly, and others just didn't do anything at all. We had good fun attempting, I just wish they'd have come out well. It's a shame - of course it could have been us but we bake and cook regularly, and we tried multiple cheeses from the recipe book and not one worked.

The family is having fun making it and i'm sick of trying it now.Definitly fun to make!

Great recipes - they really work. The halloumi was superb - milky, squeaky and lovely grilled. Easy to make soft cheeses and harder stuff like Mozzarella and Halloumi. I've made 4 recipes so far and they're way easier than you expect. The results have been enjoyed by everyone, including me having breakfast with fresh soft goats cheese made from milk last night. Get good quality gold top milk and follow the recipes - you will be surprised how tasty the resulting cheese is, and how little effort it took. I thought cheese making would be complicated but this kit has everything and just does what it says on the tin!

It was bought as a gift so flavour is something I can't comment on but it arrived on time and was as described.
