My first impression is that it’s a really solid, well-thought-out product. The components feel durable and well made, and the all-in-one design keeps everything clean and simple rather than having multiple pieces mounted around the trailer. One of my favorite features is the built-in solar charging, which helps keep the breakaway battery maintained without having to constantly think about it. The battery indicator is also a nice touch because you can quickly check the system and know that it’s ready when you need it. Installation is pretty straightforward, especially if you have some basic experience with trailer wiring. Obviously, a breakaway system is one of those products you hope you never actually have to use, but it's an important safety feature when towing a trailer with electric brakes. I like having the peace of mind of knowing there is a dedicated backup system in place. Overall, I’ve been impressed with the build quality, clean design, solar charging feature, and ease of installation. ATEM POWER did a nice job putting together a practical trailer safety upgrade that doesn't overcomplicate things.

Works as described. I did add a little clear rtv sealant around the edges of the solar panel being some folks complained about water intrusion. The body of the housing had a rubber oring/seal so I was good with that. Every time I check it it shows fully charged. I would purchase again.

I've been trying to find a way to contact a real person from ATEM. I bought one of these brake controllers on July 20 2026, installed it for a trip in the first part of august. It worked fine during that trip. Last week I discovered it had completely died. No residual charge in the battery and it won't charge when plugged into the truck. The product description cites a 3-year warranty but every feedback mechanism offered through their Amazon storefront steers me to chatbots which tell me the 30-day return window has expired. Not sure how else to get anyone's attention on this. The product idea seems nice but to have died so quickly is very disappointing. ATEM, please reach out to help!

The installation for this trailer break kit was pretty easy. I’m not a pro, but I managed to get it working up very fast. The instructions were clear enough, and everything was pretty much plug-and-play. The built-in solar panel is a nice touch, it keeps the 12V 3AH LiFePO4 battery topped up, so I don’t have to charge it manually. The LED indicator is simple but effective—it gives peace of mind that everything’s working. The breakaway switch feels solid, and the kit overall seems well built. Overall, great quality and for a budget-friendly system that comes with a solar charger and lithium battery, this is a solid option.

Unfortunately this battery did not last even 4 months. Install was as easy as any other trailer breakaway kit. Form factor was nice and the quality looked good. But after a few months of the trailer sitting, I noticed that the battery was not staying charged. Then the LEDs stopped working. I attempted to charge the battery with the vehicle a couple times but it would not hold a charge. Great idea with the solar panel but poor execution.

Very nice setup. Came fully charged and looks like decent quality. The built in solar charger is good to have to make it maintenence free system.

The Battery backup with solar charger should be a good unit, haven't had a chance to install the unit yet, complete with wiring to the breakaway switch, compact unit.

Best money ever spent tired of buying new batteries for my trailers every year works amazing and very well built same price as just a new battery

1 year in and it's no longer working. Opened it up to find it soaking wet inside with really rusty battery connections and 2 wires that have broken off from somewhere. Don't waste your money, even though like me, you may think it's a great idea. Would give 0 stars if I could. I bought 2, haven't looked into the other one yet. But I want my money back!
