My biggest headache with ice cube trays is filling them with water. It takes a long time if you do it right and don’t spill. I specifically went looking for ice cube trays that made that part easier. These trays are a sleeper hit. Why don’t all manufacturers cop this design?! Filling the trays with water is a breeze. The secret with making ice cubes in these trays is in their design. They engineered the lids to not only clamp securely on both sides of the tray, but also perfectly occupy the fill canals in the middle such that when the cubes are frozen they are all completely separate. Now filling the trays takes literally 4 to 5 seconds, pop the lids on and make sure you lay them flat. In 6 to 8 hours, you have perfectly formed ice cubes. I leave the trays out for about 2 to 3 minutes after which removing the lids requires no hot water, etc. You just unpop them on both ends and give the tray a tiny little twist releasing all the ice cubes. Make sure you do not fill above the fill line! The trays are sleek, sturdy, slim design, well-made and with sturdy lids. Most people forget that silicone trays take twice the time to freeze because they insulate the water. These freeze obviously faster. Great value. I got 2 sets. My stupid LG icemaker froze up again and until I get around to repairing that this is the absolute best solution. The ice cubes are large, but slim and long so they should fit in water bottles. Look at the photographs. Four ice cube trays half fill the built-in icemaker collecting box. That should give you an idea of how much ice you get out of these. I have not been this happy about a minor purchase in a long time. I simply love when things are designed and built well and fulfill the simple purpose for which they were created. Kudos to the designers for getting it right. Highly recommended.

This product turned the dumbest, most mundane chore of my day into a simple, 30-second task. Definitely a 10/10, would recommend. Works perfectly, no splashes or spills, and the ice tumbles out easily. Worth it to pay a little more for thoughtful design. Creates a couple fewer cubes than standard trays, so I may buy more! Couple tips. If you fill past the line, the lid may freeze to your cubes and make it tougher to open, so keep an eye on that. Also, the lid is not airtight, so make sure the trays are level when putting them into the freezer to prevent spillage.

We use a lot of ice for our drinks. I was looking for something that would last and was easy to fill. Everything is great about these. They do not feel cheap. Perfect size cubes, lid is of great quality and locks in perfectly.

My search for the perfect ice cube tray continues, but I do like this one a lot. I really dislike silicone trays because I find them impossible to get ice out of, and because they freeze *so sloooowly* but it seems all covered ice trays these days are silicone. I bought this because I'd finally found a hard plastic covered tray! But the plastic here is so thick that it still freezes rather slowly - it's good that these probably won't break apart (they feel extremely sturdy), but it makes them a little harder to twist when you want to get ice out. That said, because of the unique design with the divider from the top hanging into the cube pits, you don't actually need to twist at all - you can just scoop each ice cube out from the center b/c that side has no edge. I like that very much and also like the look and mouthfeel of the square side of the ice. (The other side has the traditional rounded edge of most ice from trays.) In terms of filling the water - it's a great system when the tray is empty but refilling when you've only used half the cubes doesn't work so well. Also, again, I like that this is sturdy, but I do find the top a little hard to get off because it's so sturdy and has no bend to it. Finally, this is extremely easy to clean because the ice pits are in the super long shape. So...not my perfect ice tray, but certainly an improvement on all the silicone ones and the old school ones that don't have covers.

I was trying to stay away from the silicone trays because I've had them and they are hard to release the ice from. This is the perfect solution! Not only do the ice cubes come out easily, but the lid reduced spills and the cubes are huge! I will be getting more.

Love the tray and the cubes do come out easy but I have a hard time getting the lid off which defeats the purpose

I do not usually right reviews, but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THESE ICE CUBE TRAYS! The simplest things in life can make life so much better. Large cubes, easy release, and a line to tell you how far to fill. I just let them to sit for about 15 minutes before a simple twist releases the cover and cubes without getting crushed cubes. Best ice cube trays I have ever had.

These leak horribly and it’s impossible to get the lid off.

Great ice cube trays, they protect the ice from absorbing bad smells or tastes. Easy to remove ice too
