Hardwired, 120v, battery backup emergency light. You could also add a cord.
We live in the mountains of eastern West Virginia, in the middle of a National Forest. There comes the occasional power outage and while I have numerous back-up systems, such as 12 volt lighting, when the power drops out, I still have to go find the switches to turn those one. Yes, we have strategically located flashlights and LED lanterns, but I wanted an automatic system and this fits the bill.It is a permanent mount, 120 volt AC hardwire system. It uses a built-in battery pack for its secondary power supply. You could put on a cord if you did not want to permanent mount. Be aware that you MUST plug in the battery pack upon mounting for the system to work. In addition, it may take it 1-2 days to fully charge the battery. After that point, operations are automatic. Power goes out, lights come on. This provides a good amount of light and it doesn’t look bad. It is far less “industrial” looking than the old boxy style emergency lights. A fully charged battery does run this for a bit over 90 minutes, so it exceeds the description on initial use. Be aware that over time, this will be reduced due to battery capacity drop. Just a fact of life. The only negative is the aesthetic quality of the buttons for light removal. I’m dropping a star for that, as it gives the feeling that they might break easily, but probably won’t.4 stars. I will update if I find in the future that this fails in one area or another.Note: I have been an Amazon customer for almost 20 years. I write all of my reviews to reflect my personal observations and opinions on a product. It matters not if I have purchased the item myself or if it was provided to me for review. My goal is to provide other potential customers as much real-world knowledge as possible to make an informed decision. In most cases I will return to my review in 6 months or less to see if I should alter my original observations. In no case will the cost of a product influence my opinions at all. In addition, I will try to include multiple images and or videos on each product, if practical.

A nice and simple emergency light
Very simple to install and use. You just have to connect the battery and then wire it to 110v (best to be done by someone experienced) and you are up and running.

Works Great
Nice backup light to have. It is made to be hardwired, but if you know basic wiring you can put a plug on it like I did. I live in a area where the power goes out quit a bit during storms. So I always have plenty of flashlights on hand and backup lighting. I wired with a plug and placed on top of my refrigerator. It's out of sight and when the power is off lights up the entire kitchen. I wish the battery was larger, but other than that it's a nice light.
