I have done this but apply very thinly because it grips really well and you can tear the paper/card when trying to remove it. However if it is too tacky you can rub it over with fingers with a little talc on them to remove some of the tackiness. I have one treated mat just for this purpose and slip into an acetate bag for protection. Hope this helps. **Q: Does this glue gum up a sewing machine needle?** A: No it is water soluble I use it 50 50% with water it is very good R. **Q: Is this like the glue on a post it note? Thank you** A: Not sure if it’s the same as a post it note glue but definitely works to make my circuit mat sticky again . I followed instructions to the letter and it worked perfectly . I was worried that it would be overly sticky and I would not be able to get my card of the mat but no it was just right . I hope this helps . **Q: can water this down or do i have to use neat on scan and cut mats ? is it very spreadable or very thick?** A: Yes you water it down for re sticking mats at least 50-50, even more. It lasts for years.
