I saved up and splurged on this SMEG tea kettle as a reward to myself. I don’t usually spend this kind of money on a kitchen item, but I was so excited and proud to have it. It looked beautiful in my kitchen and I genuinely loved it. That’s why I’m so crushed to see a huge air bubble form on the side. It looks like a defect in the finish, and now the kettle is making strange popping/crackling noises in that area as well. For something at this price point, this shouldn’t be happening. This wasn’t just a kettle to me — it was a special purchase. I’m incredibly disappointed that the quality hasn’t matched the price.

The kettle looks beautiful and it works fine. But the kettle is actually a plastic handle with plastic parts. It looks very sturdy in the photos but is not so sturdy when you lift it and use it. However I got over the initial surprise that it was somewhat of a cheap plastic product and really do like the way it looks and it does heat the water nicely and works very well. I think for the price of the kettle, I sorta expected it to be more solid. I do like it enough to have bought a second kettle to use at my vacation home. So I did by it twice and I do love the look of the design. Just know it’s not a sturdy kettle so if you have guest or kids who are not courteous to not break the plastic parts, you will have an expensive kettle with broken plastic parts.

La marca es muy buena en diseño y cumple su función principal que es calentar agua, ya hay una versión que te calienta el agua a diferentes temperaturas, lo vi recién recibí el producto, pero en mi caso es suficiente, amantes del té muy puntuales se hubieran arrepentido.
