Read and Write Arabic Script: Learn Arabic with Teach Yourself (English and Arabic Edition)

The book is organized well but the print of the Arabic script is too small to make out. I literally used a small magnifying glass but still couldn't make out many of the shapes, particularly combinations of letters. Disappointed.

I think this is a very well written book, and also makes it clear with useful examples in helping understand Arabic script, which to a native English speaker can be daunting.I also like the way he has grouped similar letter forms together, so that instead of learning the forms of 28 individual letters, he groups similar form letters into 10 groups.Quite remarkable that the author has managed to do this in 300 odd pages, so it’s quite concise.Currently my go to book for learning Arabic script.

Excellent book

Finding this extremely helpful when combined with Maha on YouTube. Thought it was important to have a grasp of the script prior to building vocabulary and have not been disappointed.

The idea is great the format to present this idea is not so good (but not as bad as author's newest book: the vocabulary), namely the small print ! Unless you speak Arabic you cannot simply even with magnifying glass distinguish between the diacritics printed!! Really bad presentation. The book should be much bigger size to allow the text to be readable. The general layout of the introduction isn't the luckiest choice as it forces the reader to flip back and fro too often, list of letters seemingly unrelated to stage. The issue that the example are almost exclusively fro Quran is troubling for a linguist in modern 2016. Generally about the book, Great idea idea and intention but the realization needs to be reviewed, in my opinion.

A very well written book, great for browsing through or chapter by chapter, in my opinion well worth getting.
