I use this small clip board as a lap "desk". I have several because, for me, it's also nice for keeping various projects I'm doing organized. The strong clip keeps everything together.

I’m pleased to have found a clip board made of wood with the traditional metal clip that doesn’t create marks on the papers it’s holding down. (New clip boards these days are plastic and have a weird kind of clip that doesn’t work as well, and doesn’t even look visually like a clip with an obvious way to use it.) The only thing better than this product would be the ability to buy only 1 instead of 3 at a time.
