Become a time management and productivity master!
Dane Taylor's "Time Management: To-Do List Strategies" is a wonderful mixture of common sense time management techniques and 21st century technological solutions. As he points out, in today's world, pen and paper simply will not do. Our busy days are filled with both personal and collaborative work tasks, all of which are fluid as the day goes on. Taylor's suggestions on how to use technology to keep hitting targets and reaching goals in a timely manner are a must for any manager or busy person.Taylor walks us through common mistakes that we all make in how we set up and manage our to do lists. I completely agree with him about how multi tasking is often counterproductive. In many cases, it causes more problems than it solves sometimes making the individual look silly with basic mistakes due to a lack of focus. Concentrating on one task at a time and giving your full attention to prioritized tasks will help to keep you on track with fewer mistakes.I also like that he suggested doing the least desirable tasks early in the morning. Getting those odious, but necessary chores out of the way first allows us to spend the rest of the day working on tasks that we find easier or more enjoyable. Doing the inverse makes it too easy for us to get bogged down and risk leaving our to do list incomplete.Taylor also suggests that we occasionally remind ourselves of where all of these tasks are leading. Those are our ultimate goals. Using apps, charts, and spreadsheets can help keep us on track towards accomplishing the goal. why spend precious time and energy on something when technology can alleviate you of most of the work?To do lists often evolve throughout the day or the process. Using such tools as Google docs not only allows you to keep up with what has been completed, but also helps you to incorporate new information that is considered key to the project. This is especially important when working on group projects when new notes must be shared. And lastly, Taylor acknowledges what inevitably happens to us all. At some point, we all feel overwhelmed. He provides some smart tips on what to do when this happens. Sometimes it is important to reassess your process and what you are agreeing to take on for yourself. Delegating properly and using simple systems help to keep you from feeling overwhelmed.Overall, this book promises to make the reader a time management and productivity master. In my opinion, if you practice the principles covered in this book, I think that promise can be delivered. Dane Taylor provides the information, but it is up to you to incorporate it into your time management strategy. His easy style and well organized information makes this book flow and easy for anyone to understand. I recommend this book for any busy person.

On the road to becoming more organized.
This book is about how to manage your to-do list and actually accomplish things with the use of apps and reminder systems. I learned that I am doing my to-do list wrong and it’s one factor why my productivity is a hit and miss thing at times. I have also read about how multitasking is really counter-productive and I am guilty of this. I am not perfect but I’d like to be on top of my chores as a homemaker and a homeschool teacher. Most of all, I want to enjoy quality time with my spouse and children as well as significant others. Reading this book, my perspective about to-do lists got turned 180 degrees. Even though the scenarios played out are in the corporate world, the principles and strategies still rang true in managing a home though the suggested apps are not. I’m sure they are effective although in my case, I’ll have to look into apps that are more applicable to homemaking. Taylor suggested to find an app that works best for you because every job requirement is different. I will surely read this book again as I set into becoming more organized. Highly recommended to young professionals and business people. Also a good and informative read to students, start them young on how to manage their time. Wonderful read for moms, too!

While reading this book i realize i was doing the ...
While reading this book i realize i was doing the wrong thing. I am a working mom and for me to make things faster i multi-task. And i have been used to it since i learned how to do it. I never thought it could be unproductive at some point since you will never be able to focus on completing one. And im used to making list but doing it together at the same time if possible to maximize my time. Reading this book has given me a lot if new information from the old one. I never thought what i knew before is not enough. Thanks to this book.

"Proofread the manuscript" was not on the TDL
I have never written a review here before, but for the sake of potential buyers (and perhaps the author?) this needs an objective review. This book needs an editor; consultation of a proofreader/editor should be added to the author's "fourth edition to-do list"There is possibly good content in this book, but the syntax/spelling errors make this confusing to read. On some of the pages it was bad enough that I wondered why I would spend my valuable time to read a book from a time-management coach who did not organize in order to finish well. The writing is unclear and in some cases inaccurate. It looks as though the author just wrote an outline and heading, and then hurried and blathered out some filler text to just get this to print. It is likewise hard to imagine this is a 3rd edition...were these problems not also noted/rectified in the preceding versions? (A few specifics: Covey did not write the book "How to win friends...," Needs documentation for the "Stanford Studies" mentioned, many of the paragraphs in Chapter 2 contain spelling and syntax errors.)I realize that these may be pet peeves from a grammar nerd, so I still gave it 3 stars. To the author's credit there are some useful pearls contained in the book. My advice to a potential buyer is to either wait for the 4th (at least) edition or just focus on the topic headings as a quick-read source of useful information. With proper organization, this could be a much stronger and helpful book. Good luck.

To-do strategies that work
This book focuses on to-do lists as a part of a time management. I sometimes have trouble with managing my time and procrastinating, but I guess most of the people do. To-do lists are not my favorite method of managing time, but I'm willing to give it a go because of this book. The author is convincing, the advice and strategies make sense and I could really see how it could improve my time management. I like the recommendations of apps that work well when you pair them with your to-do lists, I tried most of them but didn't yet settle for one, they are really good.Overall, a good time management book, I recommend it.
