great series but do not buy !!! read this review
love the show .... The series introduces a new character who keeps things flowing and created new drama. René is harsh like Edie, perfectionist in party planning like Catherine but fun loving , glamerous and adds a little more diversity. She is bluntly honest but respectful of her friendships unlike Edie and a lot more likeable than Catherine and adds her own wag life style to the street. Relationships are also tested between Lynette and tom; brie and gabby with different outcomes. Paul young also stirs up and old feelings in the series and finally resolves issues from season 1 whikst adding new plot twists and another tragedy with beth. Worth watching !Upset amazon suddenly took it off prime when I was one episode off finishing the series. I had been Religiously watching the series everyday then found I had to pay to watch it. I am apauled asI've been a loyal Customer and I can not even watch a series without them trying to rip me off!!! Do not buy this season either, they should bring it back to prime and apologise ! Multiple things I have bought have also become free to prime shortly after or even eventually so dont bother purchasing it if you subscribe to prime.buy Netflix ... I would if I hadn't bought amazon TV. They leave shows available under subscription and have a better variety.

A treat for long-term viewers!
Desperate housewives, like almost every Tv show, has had its ups and downs over the past seven years. Whilst I myself have always enjoyed it immensely, the last series (six) did stretch credulity and believability to breaking point. However it's been great to see a more restrained approach this year, i.e things don't just happen because the writers needed to kill somebody off, or needed a sudden plot change. From episode one of series seven the seeds are planted for everything that happens throughout the rest of the season. The five leading ladies dont just happen to find themselves in these bizarre situations; the situations that they're in are almost always a consequence of something that has happened before. Also, the main storylines of series six did find themselves sagging a bit in the middle, with not much happening in the middle of the series. However, every episode of seven yields a twist or a revelation that continually drives the plot forward. The most notable example of this, is the return of Paul young, which is a treat for those who have watched the show since series one, and his nemeisis, Felicia Tillman. Paul's story interweaves itself with that of one of the housewives in particualar. All in all, series seven delivers fun, dramatic and believable storylines, reveals more about the housewives themselves, introduces some great new characters, as well as several old favourites. An excellent series, the finale of which is perhaps the best episode in the sries history, whcih paves the way nicely for the eighth and final series.

Love it
I love Desperate Housewives and although I am watching it slightly later than when it was on TV, I think it still has its place and is very engaging. This series sees the addition of Renee who is both glamorous and funny. She definitely adds a lot to the series and makes it all gel together very well. The other characters are as ever brilliant. The stories have a real aspect to them and cover issues such as divorce and grief in a really touching way at times. It is hard not to want to watch the next episode. The voice of Mary Alice Young still explains all and adds a touch of humour where needed. All in all I loved this series and it leads on nicely to the final series.

Fab, fab, fab!
I have to say I did buy this for my wife...so I can only comment on how excited she was to be watching series 7!My wife is a Desperate Housewife's addict - so it was no surprise to me that she found this series as exciting as all the others. This is as compelling as series 1-6. I have now purchased her series 1-7 over the last 7 yrs. or so. I'm sorry to say I guess I can't add much more in terms of a review - other than if you like Desperate Housewife's - you will like this series!I have to say that the cost and service from Amazon is second to none. You can but the item on the internet for the same price, but why bother!Highly recommended.

A new housewife
This season was, in my opinion, better than season 6, which I found a bit too "out there" in terms of character developments. This one brought Tom back to the workforce, Susan and Mike together (in poverty) and there were interesting twists (like Susan's stint in Va va broom!). I am a Paul Young fan, so I quite liked his "mystery" (and his wife was quite a fun character). While I wasn't a big fan of Renee, it was good to have another "housewife" and while her character in this season was not really all that pleasant, her storyline and character developed interestingly towards the end and on season 8. Well worth it!

Good Season, Bad Packaging
Unlike the first 6 seasons, season 7 is packaged in a standard DVD case and the discs overlap one another, which makes it fiddly and annoying to get to disc 4 as it's half covered by disc 3. There is also no episode guide.Love the actual programme, was great to see Paul Young and Felicia return. Some very funny moments too, like when Susan wrestles with the giant lady, Lynette kicks the twins out if her house, Gaby claims she has "sex-somnia", and Bree plays dirty to beat new neighbour Renee in gaining contractor Keith's affection. Throw in a baby swap scandal, murder, suicide, a life threatening illness and a riot, Season 7 is a fun addition to the series and sets up Season 8 nicely in the final few minutes of the finale.
