Very heavy and high quality. The installation hardware is not included, and you may need two ppl to install the retractor because its so heavy. But it makes the charging so much easier while keep the cable away from the dirty garage floor. Totally worth it!

The retraction and stop mechanism works well, but it might have been designed for a heavier cable. The recoil spring is much stronger than the entire cable weight of either a Emporia 48 amp, or a Tesla HPWC 100 amp.The cable clamp mechanism is too large of an inside diameter for the Emporia or Tesla HPWC cable, so you will need to use some rubber shim so it doesn't move (unless you want to I guess).The mounting bracket should have been on both the left and right sides so you can mount it from either side or both.There is no hardware or instructions included.I will know more after it's been in use for a few months.

I purchased this retractor because it was inconvenient dragging and coiling up my heavy charging cable in my garage. This retractor feels heavy duty and functions as designed, extending out for charging and when you need to extend the cable to your car and retracting back for storage. It is a quality build with a powder coat metal housing and the mechanism provides smooth operation.

The media could not be loaded.  Easy to install. Had to buy lag bolts (like the ones you use to wall mount a TV) in order to safely attach it to a stud in the ceiling. Also needed to buy a couple of 3/8" electrical cable clamps and a small strip of black grip tape-- see my photo for details.

I had been looking for something like this for a while. I wanted something of quality and it seemed difficult to find something that looked good on Amazon. I found this model and the price seemed really high but I gave it a chance. Wow did it pay off this thing is built like a tank and has plenty of power to keep the cable off of the floor. I made sure to use some lag bolts to attach it to a stud and it's exactly what I was looking for.

Ev retractor does what it suppose to do. Heavy and somewhat difficult to mount by one person, especially a ceiling mount. It feels solid, retracts easily with a slight pull and also locks into place with a slight stop pull. No spring as shown with photo of item. Mounting bolt holes on both sides of the retractor box would give the item a more solid feel and a definite more secure mount especially when it’s mounts on a high ceiling or high wall. Mounting bolts should also be supply with retractor. No instructions with this item, not good.
