Splendid Women's Modal Lycra Long Maxi Skirt

I was on a quest recently to find a few ankle/floor length skirts in basic colors (black, grey, brown, dark blue). I ended up ordering about seven different skirts and kept five of them. This one wasn't a keeper.The fabric on this skirt was nice enough, although a bit on the lightweight side. The length did work well for me. I'm 5'9" and the length came to either ankle or nearly brushed floor depending on where I placed the waistband (natural waist or slightly down on hips).The main thing I didn't care for was the fold-over waist. One of the  skirts  that I did keep had a fold-over waistband, but it didn't do the pooch-out thing that this skirt did and was also lower in price. Another skirt ( this one ) that I really liked and kept didn't have the fold-over waist, but the cut and style of it was much nicer in my opinion.

This is a very comfortable, quality made, nice looking, soft and well draping skirt. I should be able to wear it year round except, perhaps, during the hottest and most humid summer days on the east coast. It is neither too thick nor too thin. I wear an XS in Splendid's bottoms and this fit true to their size. Very pleased and intend to purchase more in other colors.

The quality of the fabric on this skirt is wonderful. The fit runs very big. I wish it was more fitted. It is a nice skirt for a casual day or even to wear to work at a more casual work environment. Not the sexiest long black skirt out there though. The fold over waist band tends to bunch and make it look like I have a "pouch".

The quality and 'hang' of the skirt is everything you would expect from Splendid - excellent. I am a little puzzeled to the '2 in 1' aspect of the design. Yes, the waist band which is shown in the picture as folded around the waist stretches up and at a pinch covers the boobs if one holds it in place with ones arms tightly by your side!) however in know stretch of the imagination could it really be called a dress, (or at least not on a 5ft 8" size 12 C cup) possibly a cover up if you were wearing a swimming costume / bikini but not anything else. Call it a skirt and be done with it! Still all that said this is a lovely, good quality item and I am pleased with it.
