My son helped me with some drilling work on my bedroom wall. The readings were confusing. Some time it would say there was a wood stud and other times it would say the same stud was metal. Also, the spacing of the studs was not clear. Can't say I trust its readings. May have to get a more expensive model.

I bought this to hang shelves for the wife. It did a good job so I didn't miss any studs hanging brackets. The only issue I had was I live in an old farm house, which the walls were redone with drywall. Behind that was the lap type stuff with plaster. It took quite abit to hit anything but the lap boards but wasn't the fault of the device. Other than that it worked perfectly.

I needed this product to find studs in a plastered wall to hang a radiator, this did the hob brilliantly and also highlighted where wires ran through the wall so I didn't make any errors. It's easy to use even for me who is new to DIY. Brilliant product, easy to use, light weight but durable and helped find the centre of the stud wall so easy. I'd recommend this product due to its accuracy, ease of use, price and great delivery service.

The media could not be loaded. It’s a very useful tool to have to hand at home when you need to hang something to the plaster inner walls. It gives you a precise location of studs, metal, pipes and cables inside walls. It’s easy to use, and very accurate provided right settings turned on. For home walls you will need 1/2 or 1’’ settings.

Moving house so brought this to try to avoid accidents. At first seemed to get very random results and poor accuracy.Problem was me not the scanner.If you read section 7 in the instructions it tells you how to reduce the sensitivity, did this a couple of times and scanner worked fine, checked on some know areas of cabling and buried metal.Personally am pleased with this item and the supplier and would happily recommend both.For DIY this should be fine and the price seems hard to beat.
